It seems that a lot of the casinos have gotten burned at NASCAR this year so far. It has been a good year for the bettor.
The main reason for this seems to be that the one engine rule has really screwed them up.
In the past, how a driver qualified was a pretty good indication of his race finish. Now, however, veteran drivers are holding off practice and trying to save their engines for the race. Therefore the qualifying position does not usually determine anything.
The one exception this week was Jeff Gordon, but I feel he is trying to show that his divorce proceedings are not affecting him.
He might be pushing the envelope to much at a very difficult track.
Until this week, Station Casinos had at least 10 matchups early in the week. This week they had 3.
R Wallace EV
J Gordon -130
D Jarrett -110
K Harvick -120
R Rudd +130
S Marlin -160
p.s. I feel the Sterling Marlin is a good bet even at the higher odds. Rudd had back surgery after last season and he has not been close to last years form.
Tomorrow most Casinos will put up their after Qual matchups. more posts then.
