Wow. Just wow.

So saddened by this news. Matt was one of the good guys.

He was my first friend from the site. I lost touch with him the last couple years. I shouldn't have let that happen.

....He was even worse at golf than me.

How sad... and way too young!

Some of you might not like what I have to say but perhaps this could be a wake-up call for those on the board who imbibe heavily. I have no inside information on Kosar's death but it's a sure bet that his alcohol consumption didn't help. May he rest in peace.

Man, we had a lot of fun together.

I knew something was wrong. I just thought he was depressed about some things that happened in his life during the last year.

I knew what was bothering him but also thought he would come around one day so I just left him alone since I talked to him the beginning of the year.

Shit.

Saying that I am very sorry to hear about this doesn't really explain how I feel....I met Matt a few times & corresponded with him numerous times & I always found him warm & friendly....He also was very cordial to my wife & made her feel like one of the group any time we got together....He was good people !!

Man this just makes me sick to my stomach. Online....Kosar was the like him or hate him guy. In person....you couldnt help but love him.

I've been chatting with Smurph some this morning, just remembering him. I'll share my fondest Kosar memory:

It was my very first Madjack event.....at Belterra a few years back. I think everyone pretty much knows about the "Amanda Incident." If not....what happened was Kosar was at the craps table with several people. The table was going pretty well from what I've been told and Kosar steps up for his turn at the dice. He throws a time or two then BAM.....7 out. But that wasn't the only BAM. The biggest BAM was Amanda slugging Kosar with her one arm (she only has one arm). What was so funny for me was reliving that moment later that night at the bar. As I was not there when this incident happened, Kosar took center stage in telling this story a few times....each time, I laughed harder than the last time. I was literally in tears. The way he told the story was priceless.....and hilarious.

But all the guys that were there in the bar that night really helped me feel like part of the group, even though they had never met me, face to face, before that day. Sixfive, BBC, Jack, FDC, Smurph, GMroz, Kosar....and there are others too. What a great group of guys we have here at MJ's. Losing Kosar this soon just wasnt supposed to happen.

Everyone else should post some of their favorite Kosar moments

yourself and kosar are probably responsible for a good portion of my ginormous post count.....and what made the place addictive for me...

i`m sure he wanted to strangle me many times...and the feeling was mutual....but he was one of the reasons why i enjoyed logging in day after day...

i can`t say i ever had more fun interacting with any folks on the site......

this is hard to process...this place will never be the same...at least for me...

jack.....i can`t imagine how you must feel....so sorry ,man....my heart goes out to his mom...

Maybe not that at all. No need to speculate. Could have been Hep C, anything. Damn, just very sad.

I didn't say it to piss anyone off. Drug toxicity, particularly acetaminophen, is the leading cause of acute liver failure. In fact, if his was a chronic condition, it could explain why he fell asleep so often at the MJ gatherings.

I only mentioned it because it's a proven fact that alcohol consumption is injurious to the liver, especially if it is already weakened. There are some on this forum who might take this to heart and make a conscious decision to cut back or quit altogether.

I'd like to think that there could be a positive outcome from such a sad thing. If his death helped just one MJ'er live a bit longer, I'd take all of y'all being pissed off at me forever.

good point VaNurse:0074

also what i respect about Kosar was how loyal he was to Jack and how i would often see him defend this website at other sports forums, on many ocassions. Kosar was a bulldog, but a great asset to this forum who will be greatly missed..:0074
