UConn has beaten 3 MAC teams this year....how will they beat Ball St? My number on this game is Ball St. -6. I think Ball St kills UConn...Merriweather had a big game against Clemson...he will certainly run over UConn.
Iam still kinda just staring at this line. Is there something that Vegas knows that I dont?!?!? Why is UConn favored?! Because they have beatin 3 MAC schools? Gimmie a break. Even though I had UConn last game - they shoulda lost. Ohio basically said "there is the end zone - please be my guest and go in there"
I believe CRIS opened at -4 and now it is UConn -5. Maybe Vegas is giving UConn too much credit for playing BC and GT tough as well as UCONN defeating Buff and Ohio. Also, they might think that Ball St. got beatup from a physical Clemson team. What do you think? What's your reasoning for making Ball State your top play?
Iam calling off work Wednesday and skippin my night class. Iam gonna drive out to Muncie, Indiana(4 hour trip) watch and take some notes on the practice iam gonna attend. Something is fishy...Iam bound to find out
No offense, Hellah, but UConn is a decent team. They should have beaten BC in week one, but choked away a 16-0 lead. Theyve got good young players at QB and HB and a good coach. And they are covering on a weekly basis.
Line is still 5.5 at canbet. I do like the play but am not surprised that UCONN is a favorite but I thought they would be -2.5 or -3 so I think the value is w/ BSU. I will probably join you on this one hellah.
What a brutal road trip that will be. I have been to Muncie a few times and once you get off highway, it's two lane roads in between corn fields, and then all of a sudden, there's Ball State. The only place to stop and get a meal was a diner called "EAT". I think the line is soft due to Ball State's only win coming against Indy State (whose only win was a 4 point squeaker over Cumberland????), and UConn has played bigger foes much tougher than the Cardinals have. JMO...and have a good trip.
well nothing but good news for Ball St. backers....
well first of all I JUST got done ordering the parts for my computers. I ended up buying a P4 2.4 GHz and Asus P4T533 motherboard. Had to make a tough decision between this or the other board with 8x AGP....I ended up taking the board with the RAID.
Well trip to Muncie was safe no troubles thank god.
Practice started at 3 with the kickers coming out early. Kickers did well making them from as far as 53 yards. Punters had good hang time...I had a stop watch with me for that reason....punting about 55 yards with a hang time of aboutttt 4.3 seconds....but thats practice and not under a snap.
Offense - Coaches were fawking PISSED all practice long. All I heard ever 5 seconds was turnover this and turnover that. They said "We are gonna make sure we dont put that ball on the ground this week."
First on Talmadge Hill(QB). Greatttttttttt accuracy. This guy was putting balls in the basket easily. And it isnt a fluke or anything....he`s been doing this for a while now. I think he`s stepping up and taking more of a leadership role. He was rallying the players in practice and saying "Hey we gotta have a good practice like we did yesterday, we should beat UConn with our second stringers for god sakes" And everybody doing there best war cry and getting loud. Hill is very mature and good leader.
Merriweather(RB). First of...this guy is a great back. He will run you over....even ask the Clemson defenders. Clemson gave up the most yards to Ball St then anybody to else this season. Marcus has had the turnover bug lately...so most of the practice he was working mainly on ball handling. They did a crazyyyy fumble drill. The ball carrier had to carry a defender on his back 50 yards down while the defender and someone else running with him tried knocking the ball out of his hand. And Iam glad to say, not once did they fumble.
The WRs - nothing different nor special. This offense revolves around Merriweather.
Defense - NICKEL NICKEL and MORE NICKEL. They are gonna go into a Nickel package. They know UConn wont attempt to run the ball. UConn is a passing team sometimes spreading it with 4 WRs. So Ball St is gonna go Nickel and sometimes Cover 3(3 safties). Coach basically said "We arent gonan give up any big plays this weekend" Which is what I LOVE to hear.
So recap - Ball St is gonna run it first then pass. The D is playing the Pass.
