baltimore's woes?

it is becoming evident that with the lack of a running game, they depend on their qb for drives, never mind scoring.

seems like as soon as they meet a strong defense, their offense turns to jelly and their defense can only do so much. if they can't get a good running back or a scrambling qb in a hurry, it is going to be a long season.

any thoughts?

they rushed for 158 yards. is that bad?

they ran the ball 34 times and passed it 31 times.

i think the 4 turnovers was the reason for the loss.

of course, farve throwing 27/34 and 331 yards didn't hurt the pack either.

a longer season than most teams because we're going to the superbowl again and have more games to play than most teams

jack, you made me do some homework:

131 of those yards and 19 of those plays came after the score was 31-10, with 7 minutes left, where you would expect g.b.'s defense to be a little looser, perhaps nervous, thinking they were about to beat the mighty baltimore. i wish i had the exact breakdown of how they made those yards, but i don't.

and yes, that 2 pt conversion attempt was as stupid a play as you can ever concoct. i guess the coach thought they (g.b.) would turn to jelly if they made it.

the throw/interception just before the half on their side of the field was not exactly a master play either, in a tight 10-7 game.

i don't want to get into a long-running argument here. i am glad you went with g.b. and hope you cashed them as well. my plays were all comitted when i wrote on the forum last week, and yes, i had an inkling, just like you did, that my going with baltimore made green b. a must bet.

so, i am back to square one with baltimore, and will probably avoid them unless it looks too easy (i foresaw this one wasn't).

i fully expect billick to have his boys ready for their next game...i can't see the defending champs coming out flat...watch for the defense to be angry and pumped.
