NCAA Tournament
5* ALABAMA over Syracuse
Syracuse came into the tournament with very little in the way of expectations, but now that they have won a couple games all of a sudden people are talking Final Four. Well, the talking ends here as Alabama sends the Orange packing. Our ratings show Alabama to be a 4 ? pt favorite in this game on a neutral floor, and the Orange are a mere 1-6 ATS in recent meetings with SEC teams. Alabama?s win over Stanford was not nearly as ?shocking? as the talking heads on television would like to make you believe. They have been playing extremely well since mid-February when they ended a mid-season 5-game losing slide as they are 8-3 SU and 8-2-1 ATS in their last 11 games. And, over those 11 games they have not allowed an opponent to shoot more than 43% against them, and that schedule includes games against Stanford, Florida, Vanderbilt, and Mississippi St with 5 of those 11 opponents being held to 40% or less shooting. Syracuse is susceptible to good defensive teams as Pittsburgh held them to 36% shooting just a month ago, and even Maryland (a nowhere near as good defensive team as Alabama) held them to 40% shooting. Alabama is 9-2 ATS after having won 2 of their last 3 games SU this season, and they are 5-1 ATS off a win by 6 or less pts. Alabama wins SU!
