I have never been a big fan of playing trends or patterns but I really feel this could have some relevence.

(stats from the last 6 years)
-- #5 and #8 seeds have combined for a 4-1 SU & 5-0 ATS
record in Elite 8 action. The ONLY team not to advance to
the final four from this group was Rhode Island, a #5 seed
that in '98 fell just 2 points shy of Stanford.

#8 seeded ALABAMA sure fits the bill here.

What do you all think about this angle?

one more note to add...

one more note to add...

This also applies to the Elite 8 round.

(also over the past 6 years)
-- of the 24 games, 17 have involved #1 seeds (i.e. St. Joes).
#1 seeds are 10-7 SU but 6-9-2 ATS.

-- Elite 8 upsets generally come in games with small spreads.
Underdogs of less than 7 points have compiled an impressive
9-7 SU & 11-5 ATS mark. (also over the past 6 years)

What all does this mean???

Probably nothing, but interesting none the less.

Any comments/suggestion would be great.
