Outright plays (2pts):

D.A. Weibring to win 14/1 e.w. @ SkyBet
This was one of Weibring's first starts on the Champions Tour and he closed with a final round 65 to finish 4th last year. For a whole year, he has been playing on courses as a rookie and now he that he has started playing on these courses for a second time, he should do even better. It has been a successful season already with a win and seven top-10 finishes and this should be at least another top-10 finish.

Tom Jenkins to win 20/1 e.w. @ SkyBet
Jenkins can also lay claim to a win this season and six top-10 finishes, a record that means he lies 3rd (alongside Purtzer) in the 'top-10 finishes' stat category on Tour behind Morgan (who is not playing) and Weibring. His record on this course is very consistent with five top-20 finishes in the last six years, including one top-5 finish. But this has so far been his best season to date and the 6th-ranked player in terms of scoring average and money won should another good week at Nashawtuc. A number of firms offer 25/1, but will take the lower odds, but an extra place with SkyBet.

Tom Purtzer to win 33/1 e.w. @ William Hill
Purtzer had two bad tournaments in May and in his last tournament, he fell from 3rd with one round to go to 31st at the end. Yet he still ranks 1st in Scoring Average and All-Round Ranking (plus 1st in driving distance, greens in regulation, birdie average and par breakers). He showed a return to form for 36 holes in his last event and statistically he is the best player on Tour this season. So having finished 4th on his debut here last year, he certainly warrants support at this price.

Matchup plays (2pts unless stated):

Craig Stadler to beat Bruce Fleisher -145 @ Five Dimes
No disputing Fleisher's fine record around this course, but he is not playing particularly well at the moment. He has no top-10 finishes in his last five starts and that includes a missed cut in the Senior PGA Championship. After his shame of being caught drink-driving a top-20 finish in his next event was a decent performance from Stadler and he should do better this week. He heads the outright markets by a wide margin and now that this event does not immediately follow the Senior British Open (which Stadler played in last year, but Fleisher missed), he should post a much stronger showing in this event.
(also available at Centrebet)

Bruce Summerhays to beat John Jacobs -111 @ SIA [6pts]
Summerhays has finished ahead of Jacobs in each of their last seven common events and comes into the event off a top-10 finish; Jacobs' best finish in the last two months has been 33rd. With Summerhays also edging the course form, this looks straightforward with Jacobs struggling with his game.

Wayne Levi to beat Sam Torrance -135 @ Five Dimes
With Levi ranked 5th in All-Round Ranking and 10th in Scoring Average on Tour - Torrance ranks 44th and 48th respectively - this should also be straightforward and is shown by their 2004 h2h record: Levi leads Torrance 8-2-0. Torrance is also making his debut on this course, while Levi was 5th two years ago.

Doug Tewell to beat Jay Sigel -110 @ SkyBet
Sigel's run of form seems to have come to an end. He had three top-10 finishes in May, but has finished outside the top-25 in his next three starts. In fact, those were the only times that Tewell failed to finish ahead of Sigel in their last nine common events. With Tewell also having finished ahead of Sigel on all three occasions that ha has played in this event, he deserves to be the favourite in this match.

Outrights - Final update: 2-1; +7.75pts

Weibring 2nd
Jenkins 9th
Purtzer 2nd

All three in the top-10 and two in the places, but still a frustrating near-miss. Purtzer had been the leader by 1 after the 1st round and by 2 after the 2nd round and did little wrong until he was forced to be too attacking in the final round. It took a very impressive 64 from Stadler to deny him victory and a bumper payout.

Matchups - Final update: 2-2-0; -5.36pts

Stadler/Fleisher WON by 12
Summerhays/Jacobs LOST by 3
Levi/Torrance LOST by 1
Tewell/Sigel WON by 3

Really fancied the triple-play and would have thought that it was a certain winner if Summerhays finished in the top-10. He did, but it was still not enough. Very surprised.
