Interview on 60 minutes today he admits to "experimenting" with drugs during his teenage years. He is my favorite for president in 08' but i was just wondering what everyone elses thoughts were on this. He is very knowledgable and obviously knows what hes talking about. Does this alter your guys views on him at all?

I don't have a problem with it, how many people have never done something that they are not proud of? Not me. At least he admits to doing it unlike some other previous and probably future candidates.

Well, at least James is in touch with his 'Inner Barack'. Ask not what your country can do for you, Jim....

Jim:

Wouldn't be cutting down a possible administration for your lack of employment. Seems to me like your unemployed during the wonderfully prosperous Bush administration. Maybe you could one of the $7.00 per hour jobs that W is so proud of creating.

DID HE INHALE:mj07:

He was actually was ask that question on 60min and he said yes he did inhale. The wife made him agree to quit smoking cig's if he ran for president and he did. Wonder what else she made him agree too. This was the first interview I have seen with him and he seems like a straight forward guy and very charismatic. Typical democrate quotes war was wrong, roll back tax cuts for the rich, country going in wrong direction. Should be interesting watching him and Hitlary fight it out. May the best black?white?africanamerican?woman?man?person? win

Have met and spoke with the man personally soon after he was elected in Il. He was the guest of honor at my Union's Constitutional Convention last year and he sat down and talked with all of the International staff (I am included in that staff) for more than an hour. We discussed many things but not really the Presidential race as he was not a candidate at the time. Did openly discuss his younger years and I found him to be very intelligent, straight forward, and seemingly truthful. In my present line of work I meet quite a few politicians and have to deal with them on a semi weekly basis and Barack Obama is, by far, the most charismatic and willing to listen on the hill today.

He wrote about this and other drug use in his 1995 autobiography "Dreams from My Father".

Getting high was "something that could push questions of who I was out of my mind"

He was part of a tiny minority growing up in Hawaii. Blacks were less than 3% of the population. But whites are a minority also, and he found it interesting to see them discriminated against too.

He didn't fit in with few blacks he met (mainland blacks with different racial attitudes and educational backgrounds), and being black was hard for him to get dates, tho being basketball player at Punahou School helped some.

In one of his HS yearbook photos you clearly see his package of zig-zags rolling papers.

He's trying to quit cigarettes now, by "chewing nicorette all day long."

Yeah, I don't know the whole story - I think one of his parents may have been Muslim. He definitely is not though. It's a very unfortunate name right about now though, that for should.
