Barrera by Decision: +180

I'll try to get back here for a full write-up, but for the moment: just believe that Barrera isn't the slugger he once was. 3 out of his last 4 fights have gone the distance and he seems more content these days to just pound out a decision. Some may disagree, but I really believe Kelly is taking this fight seriously. There has been alot of talk that he is a shot fighter (and that may be true) but I really think it bothers him and he has something to prove. Still, I don't think there's any way he wins a decision here and I see the chances of the fight going the distance about 50/50. I'm kind of surprised by these odds considering Barerra is a -2200 fave to win this fight at Olympic as I type this.

Kelly is definitely taking this fight seriously. There has been alot of hype in the LA area papers and all indications are that Kelly is looking for a win that would cement his place in the Hall of Fame. That is all well and good - if I was fighting Barrera I would take it seriously, too. Doesn't mean I wouldn't be out in round one. I think you have to simply decide if Kelly still has what it takes - he is serious for sure.

that hits it right on the nose...at 35,what does kelly have left.....barrera has seemed to turn more boxer than puncher in recent fights....and he never was a "one punch" k.o. guy....

can kelly hang around?....i think morales took him out in 6.....that was a better kelly....and a much better morales...

and barrera does pretty well against lefty`s.....but,i`m still tempted by the over 9 rds....

one thing...and it shocked me a bit to see it in print....barrera is only 29!!!!!.....seems like he`s been around forever....

i decided to off my over 9 rds bet....he looks real old and not to confident.....got +180 on over....layed -188 on under.....i`ll take a few pennies of loss......i like over 9.5 in the briggs-castro fight in australia.....around -180...
