henderson,nv.
just got back from the fight was a very good card enjoyed them all.

had barrera as a service pick early today, the line bounced from 160-180 back and forth at places out here and got late action on barrera.

set beside a judge from the 3rd fight and he saw it almost how i had it he had 116-113 i had it 115-113. like he said the early rounds could have gone either way except round 5. but rounds 8-12 were all barreras except the 10th.

most of all the power shots were landed by barrera and if he started the fight off forcing the action insted of punching from the counter he would of probley got a ko, morales's face was a mess and looked to have gotten a broken nose in the 2nd round which made it hard for him to breath,he had his mouth open the whole fight, after the cut above the eye and another in the corner of the same eye most guys would of gone down with some of the punches he got hit with, they are a lot harder when you are there then if you watch it on tv. even though it took a few rounds to heat up,the latter part of the fight had some very hard shots and morales got the worse of it, barrera didnot look like he went through a war had a slight bit of redness on the forehead that was from a headbutt and that was it. morales's whole face was swollen and had major brushing on the left side of his rib cage and on the right shoulder. like i said he fought a tuff fight tuff to go at it when you can't see. he took some hard short left hooks and upper cuts he really took a beating in the late rounds and will be very sore for a few days and the one eye will be shut by yhe time he wakes up also had a cut on his lip that seemed to bleed from the 8th round on i am almost sure it came from a forearm and elbow shot inwhich he took a few,he also kept ducking his head after round 7 and took a few in the back of the head and back of the neck but couldnot take points away because he was the one ducking.

he threw a lot of punches in the late rounds going backwards and eachtime he did that he was droping hands and getting tagged. i was worried some in the early rounds because you just don't know how a judge is going to score a fight where one guy is forcing action yet the other fighter is tagging him with the jab on the counter. but i was happy because there wasnot much bitching from crowd at all on the out come, morales seemed upset because he got out fast but bob aurm didnot look to distraught over outcome.

over all it was one of the better fight cards i have seen in awhile from top to bottom. saw 2 nice young fighters that will make some waves down the road, one guy hit hard and heavy you could hear the thud of each punch.

well off to bed its been along day.

good luck and good nite.

all due respect fletch

all due respect fletch

but,we`ll have to agree to disagree.....you are one of the few that saw the fight for barrera....lampley,foreman,merchant and letterman also sat ringside and all disagreed with the decision....this was about the third fight....2 decisions and both were wrong...i do agree that barrera is the stronger, better fighter and would have stopped morales if he hadn`t run for 6 rounds.....i didn`t see all the effective counter punching early that you referred to(although i did see quite a few head butts)....but,enough sour grapes....congrats on your winner....if barrera figures out that morales can`t hang with him if he presses for 12 rounds,he will win number 3 by k.o.....morales`days as a fringe top 10 pound for pound guy are over....he has taken to many beatings and is struggling vs guys he would have destroyed prior to morales-barrera 1.....for all intents and purposes, that fight finished morales as one of the dominant fighters today...gl and congrats...

On the lake. Setting hooks!
I TOO HAD IT FOR BARERRA 116-114. AFTER 3 ROUNDS I HAD IT ONE ROUND FOR BARRERA AND TWO EVEN. I HATE TO HAVE EVEN ROUNDS BUT WHILE MORALES LOOKED BUSY. BARERRA WAS MAKING HIM MISS BADLY. VERY BADLY. THE LATER ROUNDS WENT TO BARRERA EXCEPT THE 10TH. ALSO LIKED I STATED IN A PREVIOUS THREAD. I SAID I BELIEVED THAT THE LAW OF AVERAGES WOULD CATCH UP WITH MORALES. 41 TIMES THINGS WENT HIS WAY. BE IT BY KO OR DECISION. AND SOMETIMES A BAD DECISION. TONIGHT AGAINST A BETTER OVERALL FIGHTER IT WAS A TIME FOR MURPHYS LAW TO STRIKE. EVEN ROY JONES HAS HAD ONE OF THEM NIGHTS.
