This has all the markings of a trap game," O'Brien said. "You're going to a bowl game that is hosted by a school on their home turf where they don't lose football games. We're walking into an ambush and we are going to be well aware of that."

above quote from Coach O'Brien....this game stuck out to me immediately with BC getting points...first inclination as a "against the public" bettor so to speak was and is to go with Boise...they are on a 31 game consecutive win home winning streak...in thier last 6 home games they have have outscored thier opponents 282-110 and they have a solid squad as usual...

In this one, however, im going against myself....BC has played some Clunkers this year ..Florida state and North carolina come to mind...but keep in mind in neither of those games did Matt Ryan start the game...I sadi from the beginning of the year this kid should be starting for BC...he brings the intangibles that you look for in a starting QB IMO...he played in the North Carolina game and nearly brought BC back for a 10 point defecit and he did bring back BC from a big hole in the Wake Forest game...He is however prone to force a few passes here in there which concerns me ...but as usual I think BC will try and establish the run early and often and limit the chance of Picks ...The one thing about BC is that they simply will not abandon the run if it is not clicking early....thier offensive line just wears on opponents and eventually with the depth at running back the running game becomes effective...so i wont be discouraged early if the running game looks mediocre at the early stages of the game as long as the defense can limit the damage on offense i think evenetually BC will have an effective running game that may ice the game late...of course in BOISE we have a solid ..solid run defense ..they were number one in thier conference against the run..so I would imagine thier game plan is to limit the BC run and make Ryan beat them...

the BC defense, however, is no slouch itself...BC has the nations number 9 best scoring defense allowing 15.5 points per game....what concerns me is Zabransky's running ability...with a mobile QB even the best called defense can get smoked and this kid has the capibility to do just that..he ran for 10 TD's this season...so that definetely bothers me...but with regards to the run defense BC only allowed opponents 95.2 YPG and a mere 5 TD's by the run game ..but another concern is that line backer Brian Toal will be limited in this game he was a solid defensive player for BC this season and he will be missed no doubt...

In all the percentage of people on Bc and the home field advantage that Boise boasts as well as the last game for the coach motivation certainly make this Boise team a good look...and 90% of the time i would be on Boise state in this one...but I just think that BC has the better defense and that thier running game will eventaully wear on Boise later in the game...If Ryan can limit his mistakes I like BC to with this one and cover the 2...

and one last note...the Boston Globe reported this morning that BC felt disrespected during the festivities for the bowl game...one of the things being that at the "neutral" dinner at the end of the opening introduction the speker yelled "Go Broncos" ....further, that the BC invites were limited while Boise had unlimited invites to some of the events ..ETC...not saying that this means much...but if anyone is concerned that BC may be menatlly uninterested in this BOWL or unfocused..forget about that angle

BC minus 2..$100
