A weak field for this week but unusually good prices are hard to find - have so far gone for Goggin played well here and in the GMO in 2000 and had a high finish last week - a popular selection with most of the 66/1 gone but still plenty of 50/1. Second pick is Dodds who always seems to play well here - 100/1 freely available.

Definitely a weak field... but someone is going to win it!

I'll start off with a dodgy 80/1 shot at bet365 who hasn't won for about 12 years. He missed the cut here last year but was 18th in 2001 with scores of 74-68-69-68 (better start req. this year) and 5th in 1997.

This year has seen an improvement compared to 2001 with a 7th in the Greensboro and 9th St Jude. 27th last week with 71-68-69-65. Here's hoping for a good first round from Robert Gamez.

I really look forward to you guys giving your views each week.
Ian seems to start most threads off and deserves a special mention.
I agree that Goggin must have a first rate chance. There are two others who rate attention.
Steven Ames and Brett Quigley could both break their ducks on tour. Ames has played well all year and in decent company, and Quigley while inconsistent, has a chance in this company. I definately dont think The Slu' can putt again this week like he did last week.:jump:

Pat Bates 60/1 Centrebet. Multiple winner on the Buy.com tour last year who has shown some form recently. Finished 9th in the Fedex and 13th in the Hartford Open

Joey Sindelar 50/1 Sportingodds. Played well when 5th last week. Posted some good results in the 90s in this event. This is his home event.

David Peoples 40/1 Betinternet. 3 top 10s this season. Straight hitter who should be suited to this track.

Outright plays (1 unit):

Jay Haas to win 22/1 e.w. @ Five Dimes (.5 units to win & .5 units to finish in top-5) or BetInternet
Wouldn't automatically side with a player who failed to qualify for the British Open on Monday, but Jeff Sluman did the same last year and won this event. Haas won this event in 1981 and has a decent chance of repeating that feat. He finished in the top-5 last year and has done so in three of his last five visits to En-Joie, plus he has finished in the top-20 in his last two events, including the U.S. Open. Impressive for this quality of field.

David Peoples to win 35/1 e.w. @ Five Dimes (.5 units to win & .5 units to finish in top-5)
It's been ten years since Peoples won on Tour, but he has shown some good form this season. He finished 2nd in the Memorial Tournament, had a promising first 54 holes last week and hasn't missed the cut in his last six events. A mixed history in this event, but in enough form to challenge this week.

Glen Hnatiuk to win 40/1 e.w. @ Bet365 or Sporting Odds
Yet to win on Tour, but is in enough form to break his duck. He led for three days in the St. Jude Classic before finishing succombing to the pressure with a final round 77 to finish 14th. It is only his 2nd round over-par in his last six events, in which he has made the cut every time. Suffering with an elbow injury at the moment, but it does not seem to be affecting his game too seriously. Hopeful he can repeat his top-3 finish of two years ago.

I have a real skinner in the BC Open - he has won the Nike Tour Championship, he is the best putter on the PGA tour this year (according to the stats - although he is last in GIR!), he is a native New Yorker whose best ever PGA tour finish was 10th here in 2000 - Bob Heintz is his name and there is plenty of 150/1 about as he hasn't made a cut for a while.

Maybe a few of the over the hill gang will perk up vs this field.

Waite..100/1 Tote..hats off to Tote..Racing Post had 100/1 but player was not on web-site, even though they had prices up to 125/1..emailed to ask why, and they added..at 50/1...asked where 100/1 had gone, and they laid me at that price! They must be really worried about my bets...33/1 in three places in UK.
Quigley..33/1 Tote..

Matchup plays (1 unit):

Brett Quigley to beat Paul Gow -125 @ Aces or Carib
Quigley is a course specialist with three top-10 finishes in the last four years. Easy to side with him against a player who will be playing his eighth straight event.

Glen Hnatiuk to beat Pat Perez -110 @ Bet365
He may have finished 2nd in the Buick Classic last month, but in nine events since the beginning of April, Perez has missed the cut six times and finished 50th and 56th on the other two occasions. With no course experience, I can't see him having another one of those career weeks.

Craig Stadler to beat Heath Slocum -133 @ Easybets
Slocum is another player completely out-of-form. He has missed the cut in six of his last eight events, finishing 19th and 73rd on the other two occasions. No course experience, so will side the Walrus whose game has shown some considerable improvement since the Memorial.
