OK....question. Does the Washington State loss open up the possibility that the Rose Bowl will not choose Washington State? I know that they are not boligated to take them since they are not the true champs of the PAC 10. So does this open up the door for someone like Texas?

Reason I ask is because like the homer I am....I am seeing the Buckeyes chances of landing in a BCS bowl, and by getting Texas out of the way in the Rose Bowl that would open up our chances to get in the Orange.

Or.....here we go with a dream.....The Rose Bowl committee gets together and decides to choose Ohio State as their at large bid..... and we get what we have wanted for 100 years!

OHIO STATE and MEEECHIGAN on a neutral field when they both are very good football teams. Now that would be a great game. No home crowd to get the emotions going. Just one team against another. OK...wake up!!!!!!

But damn woudlnt it be great?????

Ohio State will probably end up in the Orange vs FSU...
Michigan vs Texas in the Rose...
Oklahoma vs USC in the Sugar...
LSU vs ??? Forgetting someone in the Fiesta....

You really don't want to play Michigan again ;)

BTW - Whats wrong with Tressel? I think it was bad coaching when he put Krenzel back into the game after the Gamble INT.

Yea, no chit.....about Krenzel. I was watching in a sports bar with about 500 other fans and that was the biggest outroar of the game. I have always said that Krenzel is our starting quarterback. He doesnt win games and he doesnt lose them. He is great to start, but against a team like Michigan that has a nice offense and is probably going to put a few points on the board, McMullen is your guy. He has to be. He is the guy that is higher risk, but when you are down, he is the guy that can bring you back. He put a spark in the team and we had a chance until Krenzel came back. Oh well....you gotta go with your horse. Should be interesting seeing how this Bowl scenario works out.......

We want another shot dammit!

If you get another shot, you will get the same result maybe worse. I think best to wait til next year.

Its all a moot point.....and we will never find out. I have no cards to argue with except to say that home field has a HUGE part in college sports. They broke the NCAA attendance record for God sakes......not taking anything away from Michigan I just want another shot at the bastards

The Orange Bowl is salavating at the chance to get Miami - and will if they beat Pitt and get the Big East's automatic bid. Doubt they will match up against FSU - maybe Ohio St?

If LSU holds on - here are my guesses at the 4 majors:

Oklahoma vs USC in the Sugar
Michigan vs Texas in the Rose
LSU vs FSU in Fiesta
Miami vs OSU??? in the Orange

A lot could happen if LSU trips up - and Georgia is a player in all of this. Too early to tell - but I think that OSU might need a bit of get a BCS bid.

I don't pretend to know much about these BCS rankings and how they are calculated - but can Michigan get the #2 spot? If LSU loses - it probably would be to Georgia in the SEC championship game - and wouldn't that propel them to #2? I'm just curious whatever I think is going to happen this year doesn't.

I have to say though, I'd love to see an Oklahoma vs Michigan matchup.

I'm solely basing Michigan #2 on the fact they are the highest ranked, 2 loss team in the human polls. Both the AP and the coaches poll have them ranked 4th and Georgia 5th.

Michigan will get bonus points for beating Ohio State because they were ranked #2.

None of this will happen, but there is an outside chance...a very, very big outside chance.

I'd like to see any of the "2 loss" teams get a crack at Oklahoma and beat them, just to show how screwed up this system is.

Rose Bowl Prediction

In the likely scenario that the Sugar Bowl takes Oklahoma and USC, the Fiesta Bowl will have the first at large pick and the Rose Bowl will have the second.

I think Texas will likely end up in the Fiesta Bowl. It is highly probable that LSU loses one of its remaining games, which would make Texas the highest ranked at large team. And even if LSU wins its remaining games, the Fiesta Bowl might still take Texas over them, because of the bowl's tie to the Big XII and the Texas fan base.

Thus, IMHO, it is highly likely that the Rose Bowl will wind up with the SEC Champion.

As for those hoping OSU upsets USC in 2 weeks???

Oregon St. has not beaten the Trojans in Los Angeles since 1960, John McKay's very first game as Trojan coach.

Also, you only get Quality Win points if the team you beat "finishes" in the top 10 in the BCS. So Michigan will recieve QW pts if at the end of the year, OSU finishes in the top 10. Which i think they will, but the higher OSU is ranked the more pts UM recieves. WSU losing to UW gave LSU a slight chance to pass USC now. But USC i think still controls own destiny.

FIGHT ON!!!!!!!!!
