Its very early in the week so ill be keeping an eye on this game and will not make a a play until later in the week...but some early thoughts and a little head scratching...

In the game earlier this year between these teams this year the Bear defense simply dominated Carolina...Panthers had about 55 yards rushing in that game ...and I just dont understand what is going to change in this one...????....Carolina will not run the ball effectively against the bears defense IMO...and that immediately spells trouble for any team...

the Bears did run the ball against Carolina last game ...they ended up with 122 yards rushing and that was with pretty much no threat of a throw play with Orton at the helm....while I certainly that the inexperienced QB angle is always an angle to look at and it seems to be even more prevalent in these Playoffs...i look at the Bears as a better team with Grossman at the helm than Orton...that is nothing really short of obvious but i think he is going to be just fine this sunday...

Carolina has def. been playing good ball...but they are playing their third straight game on the road and second straight in the playoffs ...from that angle alone i would think twice of playing them...especially going into Chicago where they already got beaten up last time they went there ...I have a lot of respect for Carolina ...and they certainly have the advantage of experience on thier side..which needs to be taken into account...but I just dont see much changing from the last time they played except that chicago's offense is better ..??...and the Bears are rested while carolina is playing third straight road game

lean to Bears..to early in week to play for me

Cooz well written and thought out. We are on opposite sides however. All your logic makes sense. Those are the reasons to take the Bears. Personally i think Fox has this teams attention here.
If this team can shut out the Giants they can definitely stop the Bears as everyone does. It will be a low scoring very close game.

I gotta go with the better coach and QB..
Best of luck to you.

thanks Clem...

I would agree ..Carolina has the more experienced QB and coach....its a fact...but didnt they have that when they played last time...????...If this were a situation where Carolina played with an abundance of injuries to key players I could see why the outcome may be different..

But again I cant argue with fact that Carolina is much more experienced ....and that has to be something that is taken into account...

I also noticed something else statistically regarding Carolina...in 4 out of the 5 losses they had ..they rucshed for under 100 yards...again stating nothing but obvious...if you cant run the ball ..you most likely lose....but i thought this was even more interesting sinc Carolina is playing against a Bears D at home that has given up over 100 yards 2x this season at home...

i can certianly make an argument for Carolina so understand the pick...best of luck bro

So Cal
This is a strange game. Ask anyone to name the most dominating defense and most will say Chi. Yet looking closely at the numbers you see Car allowed fewer yards rushing and total yards. If the defenses are close....the offenses certainly aren't....especially if Carolinas rb's are healthy.

Plus for Chi is coming off the bye (teams resting wk1 are 82% since 1990). Also Chi is not the same team with Grossman....with Grossman healthy all year, the offensive stats would be very close.

So its easy to see 2 respected cappers split. Might be better value elsewhere this week.
