as a bears fan, dont do it......i wont even get into the offense which is much worse than rex grossman and a much worse unit than the defense (see below).

this team is on the verge of a 5 win season that has little to do with the quarterback.

any team that loses 6 starters from opening day to week 3 is in trouble.

our entire defensive backfield from opening day should be missing vs det

brown out for the year
archuleta-broken hand, may play with a cast (great he couldnt tackle without the cast)
vashar-torn groin, likely out for a month
tillman-ankle, likely out for 2 weeks (plus he's had back issues)

we will be starting
daniel manning-not bad but no mike brown
archuleta (probably but vs det, he is a detriment as he cant defend the pass)
ricky manning-great nickle back, problems as a starter
trumaine mcbride-who? rookit 7th round pick

now, they key is who comes in when we go to nickle or dime packages.....more rookies who havent played or guys just signed off the practice squad or the street.

to face the lions offense? great.

now, lance briggs and tommie harris are also injured meaning jamar williams and anthony adams will start for them if they cant go (harris is likely out for weeks with a strained mcl and briggs with a groin issue should be back, but who knows)

again, who are their backups if they go down?

one thing i find curious.....everybody that went down all got paid this offseason......hmmmmmm.

if anything, i would bet the over (as i have with each lions game) as i dont see the bears keeping them below 30......plus kitna is always good for a turnover or two and griese will be a turnover machine if behind, just like grossman.

HELL
Great, Chicago is my defense in fantasy football too. Phucking mash unit.

Rexy has been stealing a pay check for a few years now. Maybe Chicago should have gotten one of TB's 10 QB's, perhaps Plummer or Garcia. Just kidding, Griese will do better or at least he will get rid of the ball a little quicker and turn the ball over as much. Punting isn't bad thing.

I am a Bears fan and all I can say is...
:00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour :00hour

have you seen griese play?

do you know that he throws picks and fumbles as much as grossman, has a signifactly weaker arm and is a locker room cancer???

the move had to be made but this isnt some 2nd year rookie who might have a ton of upside.....he's a serviceable journeyman who's got an uderacheiving bunch of mooks on offense (berrian, moose, benson, entire o-line) + a mash unit on defense.........they are going to need an entire team turnaround to get things going in the right direction or 3 devin hester td's per game.

So do you think we should throw out our Bears to win the division futures that we got at -340?

You said the Bears were going to win the division and now, after 3 games, you're panicking?

A change needed to be made,, we know what we have w/ Rex,, not sure what we'll see w/ Brian, but we have to find out, Rex is not the answer,, why not and see if Brian is,, our chance to win is now, not down the road..

Chicago's ship is sinking. Yup.

tbh, I'm amazed Grossman got as many chances as he did.

GRIESE IS F%^KING HORRIBLE THIS IS NOT AN UPGRADED BY ANY STRECH. REX IS A MUCH BETTER QB IF YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE A SWITCH GO TO ORTON BEFORE GRIESE. I AM A BUCS FAN AND WHEN WE HAD HIM IN TAMPA I HATED LIFE. REX TOOK THIS TEAM TO THE SUPERBOWL LAST YEAR HE IS NOT THAT BAD.THE PROBLEM IS THE RUNNING GAME WITH BENSON. HE IS THE ONE THAT SHOULD BE BENCHED!!:142smilie

i wouldnt toss them just yet, but if the division winner is gonna have 11+ wins, not sure it's the bears....if they can perform well the next 5 weeks (3-2 with 4 vs division opponents) then they can give themselves a chance the last half of the season to win the division with 9-10 wins (like seattle last year)

hard to handicap 7 defensive starters injured by week 4.

I don't know if Rex is better,, all I know is that they traded my favorite Bear from last year Thomas Jones.. so if Griese can do anything, that is still better than Rex.. shoot,, Orton might be the starter by the end of the year.. who knows??

no doubt if the bears are out of it late, orton is starting every game in dec.
