not sure whether thomas can handle that wrestling..based on his record, his sub defense isn`t particularly sharp...

.but +385?....seems pretty generous...

Definitely; dog or nothing here for sure. I think Askren is going to be a great MMA fighter in the future, but he is VERY raw now and still needs a lot of work. I'm pretty sure he'll beat Thomas, but that's not saying a whole lot. Seems justified that Thomas is at least getting a second chance though after that atrocious referee stoppage in the first fight.

I think Thomas is going to get beat worse this time
I'm glad he is getting a second chance, but he was seconds away from going out

?There is definitely bad blood in this fight,? Thomas said. ?At the gym I train at, my coach went out and made these posters with Askren?s face and different quotes on them, and he put them up all over the gym. He went to Kinko?s and got a bunch of full-size posters with his face on them and he used a lot of the stuff Askren has said before that kind of pissed me off as quotes which has helped to motivate me to train for this one. This is my third fight in a brief amount of time, so a lot of times you can get burned out if you don?t have the proper motivation, but motivation hasn?t been hard for me to find in this fight. Those posters all around the gym with his face on it have definitely helped to keep me amped up for this fight and I would absolutely say that there?s a bit of bad blood in this one.?

kick, you are going to love this guy Askren
In his sherdog interview yesterday, he said he would whip GSP's ass in a straight wrestling match. He said in MMA GSP has the advantage, but in a wrestling match he would wipe the floor with him.

thought you would like that.

I can't wait for this event tonight, Askren talks a lot of crap but he has almost always backed it up, so not much you can say. I can assure you Thomas isn't the only guy motivated for this rematch. I agree with the comment Thomas hass a punchers chance but Askren isn't going to waste time, he will take him down and sub him, probably in round one!

I may be a little biased but I hope Askren shuts this guys mouth up once and for all.

Any MJ sponsored sites carry these lines?

I would aslo put money on Askren beating GSP in a striclty wrestling match, however GSP would smoke him in MMA. And since they are both in MMA now, let's not have this conversation. GSP is more athletic but not on the same wrestling level, yet...

5dimes does and if you aren't betting MMA @ 5dimes, you are tossing money away, IMO. best lines going and the ability to parlay MMA wagers makes it a must-have book for MMA bettors.

The lines tonight as of 9:30 AM CDT :scared

Thu 5/20 1001 Steve Carl +320
8:05PM 1002 Dan Hornbuckle -425

Thu 5/20 1101 Diego Saraiva +405
8:05PM 1102 Joe Soto -560

Thu 5/20 1201 Ryan Thomas +425
8:05PM 1202 Ben Askren -610

If its possible to think laying 6-1 is getting great odds, Askren tonight would be it....;)

Thanks Red, that is very kind of you and helpful. I am biased about the Askren fight tonight as I grew up with him, so not going to wager, but truly appreciate the 5 Dimes suggestion. Good luck to anyone who bets tonight, I have this feeling the favorites look tasty tonight so it will probably be upset Thursday.

Notice how he didn't say he'd beat GSP in a MMA match.......what's next?

i certainly believe askren will win...but at 6-1,after seeing him get himself into a few submission situations early vs thomas,i think laying a flat 6-1 is a horrible idea....

just my opinion...
