We're interested in doing a family stay in London and I have traveled there a couple of times, and based on those trips I know we'd like to be in a town with walking around options for dining, casino games and shopping. Please suggest a place where we can rely for meals, gaming, good theatre, etc for fun and relaxation. What are your favorite 24 hour restaurant in London? We have only visited Lake Como, but I'm open to others if they are a better fit for best casino activities and town life. Looking for suggestions!

Upstairs watching sports on the big TV.
Portobello Road on Saturdays, one of the finest antique shopping destinations in England IMHO.

Harrods Dept Store high end retail shopping, Geales (Notting Hill) for fish and chips, British Royal Museum for mummies, Speakers corner for laffs, Royal Albert Hall for a show, Victoria Albert Museum for arts, any old pub established before 1700 would be fine, and a relaxing day trip to the beach by train, Brighton...

With the tube system an good legs, you can stay about anywhere your pocketbook dictates, nice if you stay where breakfast is included, makes the start to the day much
easier.:0074

When I was in London years back I went in I think William Hills & asked about some lines for an NBA game the guy wasn't to pleasant about it but eventually gave me some. I won the bet & next day went to cash it he payed me off with a heavy amount of 5 pound notes. Thought it was a little strange but didn't want to piss him off . That day we went shopping and payed in cash & the women tells me that the 5 pound notes were out of circulation & she couldn't take them eventually went to a bank & they replaced them. I'm sure the clerk & his buddies had a good laugh off the dumb american

Good story....foreign tourists are universally fair game....

My brother and I went to some English "Card Club" to play black jack....couldn't get in without a jacket..
found a nearby thrift store bought a couple of throwaways for
a couple pounds apiece.

fun times.

I am enjoying my stay in London and took your suggestion. I went to Portobello Road, its an amazing place, every kind of antique and collectible are there. I must say that it is one of London?s best loved landmarks which contains the most extensive selection of antiques. Had fun there.

Also I visited Hippodrome Casino, for some gambling and night life to enjoy. It is an interesting and fascinating place for a wonderful and electrifyng evening. Lots of Chinese players tho :)
You must try, its a very famous casino. You might know about it.

Do you know any particular betting parlors, which is the best among all in London? I've seen a couple nicer Ladbrokes, but was wondering if there are any that are designed similarly to an American casino Sportsbook. I'm aware that the casino in Leicester Square is good and Hippodrome in centre of London is best known for sports bar Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!!!

Ladbrokes, Will Hill, Betfred, Paddy Power are all big ones you can find shops of. Those type of shops on the corner aren't really sportsbookish...they mostly just show horse racing, dog racing, and football (soccer)

sometimes is hard to get lines on american sports from these shops....they offer all types of good lines on their websites but in the shop you can't always get the lines they have up on their sites.

good luck and have fun in London. I am up north right now but will probably be going down to London later this year for a weekend hopefully.

And I must say that the city of London is an amazing place. Lots of beautiful places to visit, fun things to do, endless options to eat, drink, shop and dance. Must come for a weekend and have a delightful stay here. :)
