Boston will be looking to repeat after knocking off Kobe Bryant and the Lakers in six games to capture their first title NBA title since 1986 and the 17th in franchise history last season.
Paul Pierce, who took home MVP honors in the finals, led the club in scoring (19.6 ppg), while Ray Allen averaged 17.4 points in 73 games during the regular season and Kevin Garnett posted 18.8 points and a team-best 9.2 rebounds per game.
The Lakers will get a big boost this season with the return of Andrew Bynum, who spent the offseason rehabbing from the dislocated kneecap suffered in January.
Just 20-years old, the 7-foot, 285-pound Bynum could be a key cog in putting the Lakers over the top. Bynum averaged 13.1 points and 10.2 rebounds in the 35 games he played before the injury.
As well, Los Angeles' starting frontline during the NBA Finals of Lamar Odom, Vladimir Radmanovic and Pau Gasol are all back.
