It will be a battle of the top men?s tennis player in the world against a former World No. 1 when Roger Federer faces Marat Safin in a Wimbledon semifinal match Friday.
A win by Federer would send him to the Wimbledon men?s final on Sunday for a possible date with World No. 2 Rafael Nadal, who will face unseeded Rainer Schuettler in the other semifinal at the All England Lawn Tennis Club on Friday.
betED.com has Federer as a -1600 favorite against Safin, who is a +800 underdog to win the semifinal at the 122nd Wimbledon Championships.

In the quarterfinals on Wednesday, Federer beat the unseeded Mario Ancic 6-1, 7-5, 6-4 and Safin beat Feliciano Lopez.
Federer, a 12-time Grand Slam champion, including five Wimbledon titles, will be appearing in a record 17th straight Grand Slam semifinal, his sixth straight semi at Wimbledon.
Safin, the 2005 Australian Open champion, entered the tournament ranked 75th in the world after several setbacks and injuries over the past few years. But his stunning win over World No. 3 Novak Djokovic in the second round brought him back to contender status.
Nadal easily beat No. 11 Andy Murray of Scotland 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 in their quarterfinal Wednesday. Schuettler edged Arnaud Clement 6-3 5-7 7-6 (8-6) 6-7 (7-9) 8-6 in the other quarterfinal, which took two days to complete. The match started Wednesday night and resumed tied at one set each on Thursday, when two rain delays pushed the match to more than five hours.
The semis set up a possible men?s final on Sunday between Federer and Nadal, which would mark the third-straight meeting between the two.
In the women?s semifinals on Thursday, Venus Williams beat Elena Dementieva and Serena Williams beat Jie Zheng, setting up the sisters? first Grand Slam final meeting in five years.
