Bookmakers around the world should be bleeding after a devastating NFL Sunday with only three small favorites getting beaten from the 15 games played. We had nearly every customer we have here at betcris.com playing ?Teasers' with common teams like Chicago (-2), Baltimore (-6), San Diego (-5), Green Bay (+7.5), Carolina (+8) and Seattle (-1). Needless to say, people who bet teasers this week enjoyed a great NFL Sunday.

Best Game for the house...

Only one game really saved us from having our worst NFL Sunday by a million percent, and that was Buffalo defeating Miami 16-6.

Miami opened up a 7 point favorite and even with some late money for Buffalo and the line dropping to 6 ? at kick off, it was Miami that the public liked, especially our customers who bet teasers. If it wasn't for Buffalo every Teaser bet we took would have been a winner!!

Best game for the players...

Dallas defeating Washington at home on Sunday night was the final nail in an otherwise terrible day for us. Dallas kicked off being a 7 point favorite after opening 6 ?.

Minnesota defeating Carolina in Overtime was a double ?whammy' for us with the general public betting Minnesota so much that they closed a 2 ? point favorite after Carolina opened up being the favorite by 2 ? points. On the ?flip' side, every teaser bet we took, especially when Minnesota was the favorite, was placed on Carolina at between +6 to +9 points.

NY Giants came from no-where to break our hearts, much to the enjoyment of our customers. Philadelphia opened a 3 ? point favorite but after many Giants bettor's action, only closed a 2 ? point favorite, but they seemed to have the game won with the in progress score of Philadelphia, 24-7 in the 4th quarter. The Eagles then went to sleep and somehow the Giants came back to win in Overtime 30-24.

College Football at least wasn't a disaster like the NFL, but there was only a small profit to ?grind' out for bookmakers. We can't complain about the action though with our phone's ringing off the hook all weekend and our internet website taking a record amount of bets. Saturdays college had some terrific match up's, which also obviously contributed with games like Michigan at Notre Dame, LSU at Auburn and Florida at Tennessee.

Looking back on Saturday nights last game, UNLV at Hawaii we should have been ready for a bad Sunday.

Hawaii opened a 9 ? point favorite, but after some big ?one-way' action on Hawaii, they closed being a 14 point favorite. We scored the match in the early hours of Sunday morning for a big win to our players.

The only bright spot for our week was baseball. The only problem now is the action drops off a little with football here but it certainly at least helped an otherwise dreadful week for bookmakers.

Until next week,

Shane Catford
