The 125th U.S. Open runs from Aug. 27 to Sept. 9 at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, N.Y.
At betED.com, world No. 1 Justine Henin of Belgium, the 2003 US Open champion and last year?s runner-up, is the favorite in women?s singles at +150. World No. 7 Serena Williams, who won the first Grand Slam event of the year, the Australian Open, in January, is right behind at +225. Defending U.S. Open champion Maria Sharapova, currently ranked No. 2, is +500.
In men?s singles, world No. 1 Roger Federer of Switzerland, the three-time defending U.S. Open champion and reigning Australian Open and Wimbledon champion, is a huge favorite at -225.
