The Houston Astros will continue to make one last push to take over top spot in the National League Central division. The Astros trail the St. Louis Cardinals by 1.5 games. Atlanta Braves, meanwhile, has been out for some time, as they sit 16 games back in the NL East.

Houston?s pitcher was undecided at press time, but Atlanta will go with RHP Lance Cormier (4-5, 5.00), who will be looking to make a good final impression in hopes of improving his chance to begin next season as a starter. The right-hander, who began the year as a reliever, has allowed two earned runs or less in three of his past four starts.

The San Francisco Giants will try to play spoiler as the LA Dodgers try to catch the San Diego Padres in the National League West division. The Dodgers are only one game back of the Padres, while the Giants are nine back.

The Dodgers will go with RHP Greg Maddux (14-14, 4.26) while the Giants counter with RHP Matt Cain (13-11, 4.09). Maddux will be coming back on three days' rest for this game against the Giants, having pitched Tuesday night in Denver. He's 25-14 with a 2.97 ERA lifetime against San Francisco. Cain had a great five-game winning streak, but he's dropped his last two games, struggling with a 9.00 ERA.
