betED: The Line

We?re heavy on basketball this week with the annual NBA All-Star game and two NCAA tilts. As well, we have a pair of NHL games. The Eastern Conference takes on the Western Conference in the NBA All-Star game Sunday in Las Vegas. In College hoops, No. 4 North Carolina takes on No. 21 Boston College, and No. 7 UCLA will battle No. 24 Arizona Wildcats, both games on Sunday. In the NHL, the Pittsburgh Penguins are at New Jersey Devils on Friday, and the Philadelphia Flyers are in New York to play the Rangers on Saturday. In Hot Props, make a wager on the worst movie of 2006 when the Razzie Awards are handed out.

EASTERN CONFERENCE @ WESTERN CONFERENCE
8:00 pm, TNT

The Eastern Conference takes on the Western Conference in the NBA?s annual All-Star game Sunday in Las Vegas.

Like all-star games in most major sports, this is considered a coin flip. The last few years have seen Western Conference domination but with Shaquille O'Neal on the Eastern team, that provides a bit of an equalizer in what is normally a defense-less affair.

Sunday
NO. 4 NORTH CAROLINA @ NO. 21 BOSTON COLLEGE
9:00 pm, ESPN

No. 4-ranked North Carolina Tar Heels will take on No. 21-ranked Boston College Eagles Sunday afternoon in Boston.

Even though their early schedule hasn?t been all that challenging, the Boston College Eagles' play has been impressive. They're averaging over 69 points per game against ACC opponents and have a Player of the Year candidate in senior forward Jared Dudley. But the Eagles' lack of depth could hurt them against upcoming ACC opponents, especially a talent-loaded team like North Carolina, which can go eight-men deep on its bench and not suffer a drop-off in production.
