Orlando Magic @ Detroit Pistons
Friday 7pm ET, ESPN

The Orlando Magic are quietly establishing themselves as one of the Eastern Conference's better teams. While the Boston Celtics, Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons seem to grab most of the spotlight the Magic have quietly put up a 27-17 record, good enough for first place in the Southeast Conference.

Friday night they get the first of two big tests this weekend as they take on the Pistons in Motor City. The Pistons, 30-13 SU, are second only to the Celtics in the Eastern Conference standings. While both teams have solid records, it's hard to tell who's the hotter club.

Detroit is an impressive 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games and 26-16-1 ATS overall this season. The Magic seem quite comfortable on the road and have a 23-7-2 ATS record in their last 32 road games. This past Monday the two teams met in Orlando and the Magic squeeked out a 102-100 win that failed to cover the 2.5-point spread.

Boston Celtics @ Orlando Magic
Sunday 1pm ET, ABC

From the frying pan to the fire the Magic get to play the NBA's best team, the Boston Celtics, only two days after playing the second best team. This time they're back in the Magic Kingdom.

The Celtics are 33-7 SU and 25-14-1 ATS this season making both fans and sports bettors happy campers. In mid-December these two clubs met in Boston and the Celtics had little trouble with the upstart Magic, winning 103-91 thanks to a scoring outburst by Rajon Rondo. But back in November, with the Celtics riding an eight game winning streak to open the season, came up short against Orlando and lost 104-102 for their first loss.

The Magic may be tired after playing in Detroit on Friday night but will need to find the energy to handle the up-tempo offense the Celtics employ. Averaging nearly 100 PPG the Celtics you'd think they'd be the highest scoring team in the game Sunday, but the Magic are nearly five points better with a 103.6 scoring average.

Gonzaga Bulldogs @ #1 Memphis Tigers
Saturday 12 pm ET, ESPN

As soon as you mention the Gonzaga Bulldogs basketball program one word always comes to mind ... "upset". They're the kings of the upset and this Saturday they'll be looking to remain that as they take on the new #1-ranked team in the country, the Memphis Tigers.

Gonzaga is 15-4 SU but only 9-10 ATS this season. They've won six straight games but have failed to cover the spread in their last two outings. The Tigers meanwhile are on a tear. Starting the season with a perfect 18-0 record (including 10-0 at home) Memphis is also 10-6-2 ATS. They've also covered the spread in eight of their last nine games.

These two teams met last February at Gonzaga and the Tigers walked away with a 78-77 overtime victory.

Michigan Wolverines @ #10 Michigan State Spartans
Sunday 1pm ET, CBS

The rivalry between the Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans is one of the most intense in college sports. Sunday the Wolverines will hope to play the role of spoiler as they travel into enemy territory to take on the #10-ranked Spartans.

The Wolverines program has fallen on hard times this year. With a record of 5-14 the season is all but lost and the only thing that can salvage it might be a win over their arch-rivals. They've even managed to post a losing record ATS this season (4-13). The Spartans are just the opposite with a sparkling 16-2 SU record with their only two losses coming at the hands of the UCLA Bruins and the Iowa Hawkeyes.

The two teams haven't met since last February when the Wolverines, as 12-point underdogs, won 67-56 on their home court.

NHL All-Star Game

Western Conference vs. Eastern Conference
Sunday 6pm ET, Versus

The most skilled players in the National Hockey League will put themselves on display Sunday in Atlanta for the 2008 NHL All-Star Game. The Eastern Conference team will feature Ilya Kovalchuk, Vincent Lecavalier, Alexander Ovechkin and Marian Hossa. Not to be outclassed the Western Conference team includes snipers Marian Gaborik, Pavel Datsyuk, Jarome Iginla and Rick Nash.

Last season the West rolled to a 12-9 win. There was no All-Star game in 2006 (Olympics) or 2005 (lockout). The East seems to carry a little more firepower into this game as their roster has scored a total of 375 goals this season while the West is only carrying 331.

The Senior Bowl
Saturday 4pm ET, NFL Network

One last chance to show off for the NFL scouts comes Saturday where college football's top graduating players are all on hand to show their stuff at the Senior Bowl.

The South team has two of the top draft eligible QB's on their roster in Kentucky's Andre Woodson and Hawaii's Colt Brennan. The West counters with Michigan's Chad Henne and USC's John David Booty. But the guy who may just surprise everybody and move up even a round or two is University of Delaware standout Joe Flacco.

The game could be USC vs. the South given that the Trojans have placed nine players on this year's squad including Booty and star tackle Sedrick Ellis. No matter who is on the field, the kids all have something to prove.

Super Bowl XLII

We couldn't let this week go by without at least mentiong the Super Bowl. Every year one of the most popular Super Bowl props is the Coin Toss wager. Some teams believe that winning the coin toss is a bad omen and the Patriots may just have some inside knowledge.

In their last three Super Bowl wins the New England Patriots have lost all three coin tosses. Over the last 10 Super Bowls the team that won the coin toss has only won the game twice. The St. Louis Rams in Super Bowl XXXIV and the Atlanta Falcons in XXXIII are the only teams to not suffer the Super Bowl Coin Toss curse.

This year betED.com is offering a number of ways to bet on the Super Bowl Coin Toss:

Which team will win the Super Bowl Coin Toss?

New England Patriots -125
New York Giants -125

Will the coin land on heads or tails?

Heads -125
Tails -125
