Desperation is the look that will be on all the online sports betting participants in the NBA Finals on Thursday and the team that is more desperate is the team that online hoop bettors want to be on.
It wasn?t quite like the time that Michael Jordan played in the playoffs and could barely walk but Dirk Nowitzki prevailed Tuesday despite a 102-degree fever when posting a double/double to again lead Dallas to victory.
For all of LeBron James? talk before the game about leaving everything on the online casino floor, he did not take his own advice on Tuesday. He only got up 11 shots and that is just not enough to win.
Look for him Thursday to go back to his aggressive, attack the hoop mode and for Miami to be very tough to down.
D. Wade was again superb on Tuesday going 13 for 20 from the floor and playing a great all-around floor game.
Chris Bosh played the most minutes for Miami other than LeBron and he hit key shot after key shot.
Dallas tried to shake things up early when they tweaked their starting lineup and started Jose Barea. The Mavericks know they cannot rely on Dirk to make every single shot and every correct pass and although Barea played just okay, he was somewhat effective.
He started for Deshawn Stevenson and a lesser player might have sulked but Stevenson was ready when called upon and he delivered with 11 off the pine.
Jason Terry was the first off the bench for Dallas and he showed the signs of what has made him such an effective player over the years. He made some key passes and chipped in with 17 points.
One of the keys Thursday will be how the reserves play. The Dallas players off the pine Tuesday got the best of the Miami bench and if that happens again, Dallas could go back to Miami with a lead.
The pressure will be on Dallas Thursday to win because they don?t want to be forced to win two in a row to win the series.
Conversely, Miami has an opportunity to put a stranglehold on the series if they can somehow pull out a victory.
For that to happen they will have to get something out of their point guards. Mike Bibby was held scoreless Tuesday and Mario Chalmers, who has been a bright spot, only was able to muster 5 points.
The game will come down to a war of wills and which team is able to impose their style on the other. Dallas will look to spread the ball as much as possible and get Terry involved early in the contest.
If LeBron can defend him the way he did in the first three games, it just might spell disaster for the Mavericks.
Look for it to unfold with James controlling the point more early in the game and trying to get Wade involved in pick and rolls and cuts to the hoop.
If he can?t find the open man early, expect James to put his head down and go to the hoop like there is no tomorrow.
If he does that, Miami will not only likely be able to cover the 1 and a half early sports betting bonus point spread, but they will have an excellent chance to win outright.
