The Philadelphia Phillies just cannot generate consistent offense to go with its incredible pitching staff. With Ryan Howard still nursing an injury and his status unknown for opening day, the Phillies become an even more unknown commodity. In the NL, the Phillies can seem like a lock for a good World Series futures bet, but they will more than likely disappoint again in 2012.
St. Louis Cardinals (Odds on Winning: 25 to1)
The Cardinals lost Albert Pujols and replaced him with Carlos Beltran. Prior to spring training, the Cardinals would have been one of the best World Series futures bets you could make. The team still has a strong starting rotation and it can still produce offense. But the continued problems with starting pitcher Chris Carpenter make the Cardinals a risky futures bet. But still, if you are feeling lucky, then the Cardinals are not a bad bet at all.
