While most people are focused on the Mayweather Marquez betting odds and UFC 103 fight card betting, there will be some great college football action before we get to those main events on Saturday night. Here's a look at two key SEC college football games for this Saturday.
Lousiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns @ LSU Tigers
It's going to be an all-Louisiana style cookout this weekend as the Ragin' Cajuns travel to Death Valley for a big contest. LSU has been somewhat shaky to start the season this year but at the end of the day, they are 2-0 and are slowly improving. There are some really ominous signs for the Ragin' Cajuns defense heading into this week. They have just five tackles for a loss and zero sacks in the first two games, which means that LSU should be able to do what they want to them offensively.
The big difference in this game for the Ragin' Cajuns will be the difference in size between the conferences. The Tigers have a big, athletic offensive line that is going to flatten the UL-Lafayette defensive line and clear the way for Charles Scott and Keiland Williams to have big games.
For the Tigers, that's all they need to get their mojo going. If they are at home with a powerful ground game, they will win rather easily.
Stanley Cup Picks: LSU
Florida Atlanta Owls @ South Carolina Gamecocks
Props to Florida Atlantic head coach Howard Schnellenberger for continuing to schedule games against the big boys from the BCS conferences but it's become fairly evident that FAU can't play with them. Any of them. The biggest issue has been the size and athletic difference between the players from the two conferences.
FAU is banged up on the defensive line and their linebacking corps isn't good to begin with. That's good news for the Gamecocks, who should be able to run the ball and take some pressure off of Stephen Garcia.
On defense, South Carolina is going to pummel quarterback Rusty Smith. the SC defense is a good caliber SEC defense and their speed is going to be a big problem for the Owls.
This is just another bad matchup for FAU and don't be surprised if Steve Spurrier and company shut them down completely and pitch a shutout.
