For my money it's not even close. Put farve on the Rams with thos weapons and he would light up the scoreboard. Put Warner in GreenBay and he'd be back bagging groceries.

I agree. Rams receivers are usually wide open easy targets. Favre has to thread the needle most times because the receivers can't get open.

Give Favre Bruce, Holt, Faulk, Hakim and that O-line in that offense, he breaks Marino's record for Td's.

Favre will own EVERY NFL passing mark by the time he's done (heck, he owns quite a few already).

Favre is also the ONLY NFL player to win 3 MVP's! Even more astounding, they were 3 CONSECUTIVE MVP's! That is especially surprising, as you'd think voters would "get sick" of voting the same guy over and over.

He very well could win his 4th MVP this year.

How many MVP's did Dan Marino win? How many Super Bowls did Marino go to?

The Packers have a poor supporting cast this year (other than Ahman Green)...his receivers would not start for most teams - there are very few teams I would not trade receivers for, even up

When Favre is done, he will be recognized as the best ever. Without question.

Thank you, Jerry Glanville, for giving him away - can you imagine where the Falcons would be if they'd have kept him?

Funny how every body pumps up Brett Favre. Too bad the Minnesota Vikings absolutely own this guy. In both games this year he couldn't move it all vs the leagues worst defense. Favre has a good arm and good pocket sense, but his weakness is reading defenses. Their coach knows this, this is why last week how many passes did you see him throw? Somebody tried to compare favre to Montana, and that had to be the biggest joke ever. He won one superbowl vs a very average New England Patriots with DREW BLEDSOE. HE lost the next year to Denver.

Favre is the most hyped QB in the league, just like everybody hyped ERIC CROUCh and nebraska. He has lost to Minnesota who comletely rattled him this year, Tennesee another non playoff team, and almost lost to Minnesota again. Seeing people back this guy brings smiles to my face, because FAVRE won't beat a good DEFFENSE. He did nothing vs Tampa twice this year. They shut him down with little problem this year.

When Green Bay wins everybody's quick to jump on the Favre bandwagon, and when they lose everybody is quiet.
Warner is a great QB, he's the toughest in the league as he will wait until the last millisecond in the pocket to throw the ball. he can read defenses like no other QB. Don't be blinded by what he did 5 years ago with a solid team around him offensively and defensively.

He has the running game, One of the leading rushers in the NFC, 3 good wideouts, 2 good young tight ends. His problem has always been interceptions. His totals are down now because he throws 5 yard crossing patterns all the way down the field, or dumps the ball off to Ahman Green. Nobody has a better arm in the league, but when he throws the ball deep he puts the ball up for grabs. He's a good NFL QB, but not great and is not even in the same league as KURT WARNER

GB beat Minnesota last week. I think Warner is a decent QB but it certainly doesn't hurt having the reigning MVP standing behind him.

Warner has who he has, but it's what you do with the talent. Warner is on pace to post the best stats of any QB in the history of the NFL. IF he can win the superbowl this year, it would help put him in elite company, because greats are measured from how many rings they have. He is expected to win the superbowl this year, as he can't ask for more speed, and a better team.

But Warner beat the Saints on Monday night, in possibly the easiest game of the year spread wise. First game he had a bad game, Warner is not unbeatable, if you can pressure him up the middle, because he waits until the last second for defenses to open up and recievers to break free. When he has time he knows where to throw the ball.

I'm not denying that Warner is a great quarterback... the weapons around him are MUCH better than Green Bays' ... let's break it down:
Faulk or Green - this has gotten closer, but I'd say Faulk for sure...
OK now,
Bruce or Freeman - yea right...
Holt or Schroeder - another no brainer.

Bottom line, Favre has won 3 MVP's - no other player in HISTORY (not Montana, not Marino, not Elway, not Warner (as of yet), not Payton, not Barry Sanders, not even OJ) has won more than 2... AND he won a Super Bowl (with a very strong team).

That alone put him's above the Pack (forget the pun). His consecutive game streak at quarterback is similiar (given it's football and not baseball) to Cal Ripken's for baseball.

Guys, Warner is a great quarterback, but give Favre his due - he's the best of all time!

I will take Farve over Warner that is if he has quality guys to catch the ball. That make a world of difference. But neither one of these guys could carry Joe Montana's or Johnny Unitas' jock. No doubt the best two QB's to ever play the game so far.

Farve has set some of those records in the most god dam rotten weather at times that no one wants to let there kids out in. His wide out are average. He had one great one for a year and a half that he was healthy. Sharp was his name. Wish Farve could have had him for 6/7 years. He lost one of the best tight ends to injury and other BS two years ago.
With StLou wide out's 40/42 TD passes could happen yearly. But it's not just the passing. He goes down field at times and blocks. He has found away to stay healty for the most part. This guy is no wine-er. And that's why so many players love the guy.

Warner has only been in the NFL for 3 yrs. I don't think you're comparing apples to apples. Perhaps come back in 10 years and pose the same question....

plenty of doubt actually....

i am a Cowboy fan and have room to say this but I think that a qb should not be judged on championships won....just as other positions are not judged on championships won....Barry Sanders can be arguably called the greatest runner ever even though he played on a sh*t team.....

My vote goes to Marino as best of all time. This guy played on very few good teams but always won a lot of games. Put him on the 49ers of the 80's or the Cowboys of the 90's and he has his share of rings.....
