ST. JOHN?S, ANTIGUA (July 7, 2004)?A lucky
WagerOnSports.com customer defied the odds last night and earned a small fortune by correctly picking a six-team parlay. The customer wagered just $50 on six different Major League Baseball games and walked away with $12, 482.34 in cold hard cash when all six of his picks came in as winners.

Renato A. cashed in his bet when the Red Sox, Mets, Marlins, Angels, Rockies and Dodgers all came in as winners on Tuesday, July 6th. The six-team parlay included three moneyline wagers ? Mets (+109), Angels (+136) and Rockies (+240) ? and three run line wagers ? Red Sox -1 ? (+165), Marlins -1 ? (+135) and Dodgers -1 ? (+140) ? and paid out close to 250/1 (i.e., win $250 for every $1 bet).

?All of us at WagerOnSports.com would like to congratulate Renato A. on his fantastic win,? said Simon Noble, CEO of
WagerOnSports.com . ?Although he?s won over $6,000 on basketball parlays and more than $4,000 on hockey parlays since May, even he must have been stunned when he turned a simple $50 bet into over $12,000 in winnings.?

?Together with his huge payout from last night?s parlay, Renato has won over $28,000 on parlays alone this year,? continued Mr. Noble. ?He?s obviously found out that playing parlays can pay off in a big way and we wish him the best of luck with his future plays.?

Great bit of advertsising for this book. Not disputing the fact that this client won the bet, but if he was winning as much as the book says he is winning, they would certainly not be wishing him 'best of luck with his future plays'. Something tells me that although he has had the big win, he is probably still in the red, or very near to the red on balance with that book.

drop in the bucket for simon with this account,

and yes of course they want parlay action(every single bookmaker out there does)......but at least you know you will be paid and on time!!

imho, not bs at all.......

nice to see a player win for once and get attributed too.....

its refreshing.

IE,

I think you took it as me having a bash at the book.

This is not the case. There is nothing wrong with a bit of Public Realtions, and highlighting somebodys huge parlay win is a perfect way of advertising your book, as it encourages everybody else to do parlays. The book know full well that if everybody who reads that post has a $50 parlay every night, they can afford to pay out over $12,000 to one guy, as they will roll that over many times more on other parlays.

My point was that if the book were concerned about that clients business, they would not be making statements like that. This book would actually be pleased if there were more $12,000 winning parlays, as they would gain more exposure, and turn over more money.

It might be that books dont do that over there very much, but this kind of thing is a huge part of the bookmakers PR machine over here in Europe.

I understand that this site relies on sponsors from these books, and that you have to protect their interests from time to time, but I am only stating the obvious here.

Thanks for everything you do on this site IE, I look at your MLB stuff nightly, and you do a great job!
