World Cup 2006
From BetWWTS
Tuesday will see the Round of 16 lines up being completed after the matches featuring Brazil and Ghana and the later must see game between Spain and France. The grapevine coming out of Germany suggests Ghana is committed to a physical game plan against Brazil so expect the referee to be a busy man. The final Round of 16 pits the old against the new Eurocrats. Don?t be surprised to see France upping their game against the cavalier style Spanish and giving then a real test.
Who to Play for Tuesday?s Games
Brazil -400 vs Ghana +1000
This is a game of David vs Goliath: The giants of Football against the Guppies from Africa. There will be lots of scoring chances by both teams and this will be how soccer should be played. Ghana is a talented and energetic football side, which already has beaten the odds by getting to this game. The Ghanaians have talented players that play all over Europe, but their star Essien has been suspended for this game. Brazil on the other hand is the most talented team in the tournament and some say, the most talented Brazilian team ever assembled. Ghana will have to stop Ronaldinho, Ronaldo and Carlos if they want to win and frankly that is to big an ask. Brazil started the tournament off a bit sluggish but ended in a bang, with Ronaldo rounding into form. This game is a lopsided affair that should be see Brazil win 2-1 or 3-1. BetWWTS is offering the Over and Under at O2.5 -160 and this is the bet I like the most. As far as the side goes, I can?t bet a -400, so I will take a small amount on the Draw at +450 and hope for a 2-2 score at the end of regulation. Bet the Over and the Draw and you will win one of them for sure and have an outside chance at both.
Spain +150 vs France +200
This should be the game of the Round of 16, as both these teams have much bigger plans. These are 2 soccer powerhouses with huge tournament aspirations. This is a very intriguing affair as both teams are the Jekyll and Hyde of Football. Is this the game France finally shows up and plays some really solid football? Is this the spot Spain breaks their fans hearts or are they finally going to take the next step. The Spanish owned the 1st round, with convincing wins over Ukraine, Tunisia and Saudi Arabia. They have not let a goal in this entire tournament and are averaging 2 goals per game. The French conversely snuck into the 2nd round with a win over Togo. Had Switzerland and South Korea tied, the French would be watching this game. With that said, The Frenchman showed great touch last game and they dominated the game against South Korea. The French team has actually looked better than their records shows and has just been unable to close. Of all the matchups in this playoff round, this is the hardest to predict and that is why I am betting the Draw at +185 at BetWWTS. My predicted score in regulation time is 0-0 or 1-1, so the Draw and Under are both rock solid bets. The Under is currently U2.5 -175 and I will be putting a small amount on it.
