big 12 freeze plays..........1-19-02

1 UNIT plays (10-6).....include 2 buy backs......

record woudl be much better if not for OSU games.......Maurice Baker is still nursing his groin and team just is pretty mediocre without him playing as he did earlier this year........

Col at Mizzou.......

Colorado played well to beat Iowa State Wednesday at home. Eustachy called this Iowa State's best game of the year.....meaning the Cyclones must still be improving as was thought.......also mean Colorado must have played well to beat them......

Mizzou played A&M in what was not a well played game. Clarence Gilbert is taking over the point position. He is still uncomfortable in that role and Snyder says it will take time for him to figure things out. A&M got pounded on the glass, committed 13 TO's, shot 36% in the 1st half yet were only down by only 11 and proceeded to close within 8 before the Tigers put them away. For the game they were outrebounded by the Tigers by 14 mostly due to horrible inside play after Slocumb is out.......A&M coach says they tried to "disguise" this weakness but were unable too. Undoubtedly, this "disguise" will not work in the A&M game against Baylor this weekend because Bliss will recognize it on video and or read the paper.....lol.......back to Mizzou though......Bliss has his own problems though with Davis out.....

Also the Mizzou/A&M game was a game of runs........the last one by Mizzou which led to a blowout and the A&M team was described as undermanned and tired by their coach.

Point is, is Mizzou is not playing well.......hopefully this gives value to the line tomorrow, and I think Colorado is. Colorado got beat by Nebraska but in reading the papers that seemed to be due to bad play by Col. and good play by Nebraska plus the fans and players were into it there as I saw quotes speaking of Neb 1 Col 1........a carry over from football.....UNL Wideout Wilson Thomas is a double sport player and I htink the Huskers were really up for that one......

Mizzou has to go to Norman on Monday on ESPN and could be looking forward to that one......

Col. has played well on the road before losing by only 8 to Georgia and unlike in years past is not a sure thing go against on the road......I think the line will be in the mid teens and give value to a play on the Buffaloes.......



My prediction: Missouri by 8

first two plays i am unsure of tomorrow......not real confident in them and may not get up before tip off but my thoughts are this....

Col. at Mizzou......

I thought the line would set up for a play on Colorado tomorrow......thought the oddsmakers would look at the last few games and realize that this was a 15 point spread in the making......and I was gonna play it to about 8......

Well, 10 is too close to 8 to make a play for me. I think Mizzou wins but winning by 8 is about as probable as 12 and with the inconsistency of both teams as of late.....this turns out to be a best guess.....

Home court IS huge in the big 12.....especially in Colorado games....and I may make a play on Missouri....will definitely not play Colorado as they have to play well to keep it close....and keeping it close could be a 5 point game with fouling down the stretch not covering the spread......

OU at Kansas....
at 6.5 I might play Oklahoma. They are playing as well as anyone lately and took care of Maryland similarly as did Duke. Have not been road tested though. I think this will be a close game but you have to give the edge to Kansas at home.......May make a halftime play......

Like a couple other games but am gonna wait for line movement which I think will be in my favor and also am gonna really be watching to see how the Col/Mizzou game plays out....could factor into my assessment in how a couple teams are playing......

freeze, i agree with that home court advantage, wonder if sometimes it might be better to make first half wagers on those 10 pt or so faves that you really think come out strong with the home court but then the end of the game can get a little iffy with all the 3's and free throws...of course depends on the number you're getting but i like this possible angle, any opinions??

gonna play Mizzou for a UNIT at -10 and OU for a unit at +6.5

think Snyder will get a defense ready to stop CU center and Mizzous point guard problems will not be a factor at home with CU's weak backcourt......

also think OU will make it a game at Allen Field House so will take the points.......

Duke -15..........Krzysyvski.....lol....why did i try to spell it?......i think has his team where he wants them and i think they will not let down......he was disappointed with the let up in them with the NC State 2nd half......and i think two spurts with solid play will hurt the Wakes........hard to take that Duke pressure.......Blake and Dixon are certainly a better backcourt and they could not......

OSU pickem......

line has moved in OSU direction.......i may throw another unit on it by game time......

Daily Oklahoman lists Baker as 95% healthy, best he has been since groin injury, and "sprinting yesterday in warmups".......undoubtedly, this guy is the key to OSU

also think practices may have sucked for OSU and team will respond to the ass kicking they got at home to Kansas......

also.......zone defenses have been hurting OSU this year....particualry when Baker is not effective.......Knight is not known as a zone coach.......

really like this matchup.......I am probably gonna throw another unit on this one but the line may move in OSU's direction further still and will wait before making this a huge play......good luck
