Kansas -8.5
This is a spot which I normally would take Kansas State, but I have some reservations -- enough to overturn my play and take Kansas.
KState is coming off lousy home performance. They should be up for this one.
Kansas is coming off good road performance, good spot for a letdown.
But here is why I like Kansas.
1. They get a couple guys back which should bring renewed energy to tonight.
2. This is the time last year when they started to peak. I see it happening again as the seniors start to step it up.
3. Kansas still has the villanova game fresh in their minds. Plus they are playing in state rival game so I dont see any reason to think that they wont come out ready to play.
4. Similarly, KState emotional state shouldnt be any different from a rivalry game BUT i think the home loss to colorado will hurt confidence and that will have a bigger impact than a bounce back situation because with Kansas pressure defense they may get overwhelmed early.
5. I like the spread. Even if Kansas pulls away at the end, 8.5 is a good number to be able to cover as it is under 3 possessions and fouls become an issue.
Anyway thos are my thoughts.
I can't see myself laying 22 points with Texas Tech and am thinking about Baylor. But Tech is really playing well and Baylor is playing horribly.
Dont see any way Baylor keeps it close and think that number is pretty solid.
