Raymond,be careful with Hofstra.I like them to tonite but Suarez is going to be benched because he refused to fly to Florida lweek on an airplane.Walker who had 18 pts in florida might not play because of an asthma problem.Gibson who played for Suarez in Florida has a knee problem. And Miller has a toe infection.Mcrae has a groin pull.
Pecora is calling the mash unit. With that all said and done Suarez might have to start because Pecora has nobody else.
And everytime something like this happens the injured, short handed team covers and wins by 15.GL

I noticed that you had Ark St. on a ML
in the parlay post. What are your thoughts on denver covering the 12.5. I can't see where arkansas st. has covered as a fave yet, whereas denver seems to do well with a double digit # missing only once against Man. on the road

DATE & TIME: Thursday, January 3rd, 7:30 p.m. (et).

FACTS & STATS: Site: Bob Carpenter Center (5,000) - Newark, Delaware. Television: None. Home Record: James Madison 3-1, Delaware 2-1. Away Record: James Madison 2-2, Delaware 2-2. Neutral Record: James Madison 2-0, Delaware 1-2. Conference Record: James Madison 0-1, Delaware 0-1. Series Record: First- ever meeting.

GAME NOTES: The James Madison Dukes and Delaware Blue Hens meet for the first time on the hardwood, when these two new conference rivals meet up in Newark in Colonial Athletic Association action on Thursday. The Dukes have gotten off to a fast start this season with seven wins in their first 10 games, including four straight wins (matching the program's longest winning streak since the 1995-96 season). Last week, James Madison participated in the Spider Invitational in Richmond and brought home the tournament title with wins over Cornell (56-40) and Virginia Military (94-84). The Blue Hens have also played well of late, winning two straight games to crawl back to .500 on the season. Both recent victories came in routs, as Delaware destroyed George Mason (83-56) in league play, followed by last weekend's 20-point win over Loyola- Maryland (75-55). The Blue Hens are in their first season in the CAA.

The Dukes' 7-3 record matches the team's best 10-game start since the 1986-87 season, when the team went 9-1 to start the year. The recent win streak has been accomplished without the services of senior forward Ron Anderson (11.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg), who hasn't played since suffering a hand injury on November 22nd. However, the Dukes may get Anderson back in this game, giving them another weapon to choose from. Leading the scoring brigade for the Dukes this season is junior guard David Fanning, who is pouring in 20.9 ppg. Fanning is the team's top perimeter threat, having already amassed 33 three-pointers on the season, while connecting on 41 percent of his attempts. Other double figure averages include sophomore forward Dwayne Broyles (11.9 ppg) and junior forward Pat Mitchell (11.0 ppg). The 6-7 Mitchell is the team's top rebounder (8.9 rpg) and will certainly benefit inside with the expected return of Anderson.

If the Blue Hens want to make a splash in their new conference this season, then they will need to continue to get solid scoring from varied sources. Delaware doesn't possess a 20-point a night scorer, but the team does boast scoring depth, with five players averaging over eight points per game. Two players are averaging double figures, in Mike Ames (11.9 ppg) and Austen Rowland (10.7 ppg). They also represent the team's snipers, as the pair have combined for 44 three-pointers. The rest of the team has managed to connect on just 31 treys. Vohn Hunter, Ryan Iversen and Maurice Sessoms round out the scoring options, with 8.7, 8.6 and 8.4 ppg, respectively. In the team's most recent victory, Iversen and Mark Curry came off the bench to lead the way, combining for 25 points to break open a close game, giving the Blue Hens a comfortable win over the Greyhounds. Iversen, a 6-3 guard, led the team in scoring with 15 points, while grabbing eight boards, while Curry (a freshman forward), logged 10 points and six rebounds in just 15 minutes of action.

The Blue Hens are learning to adjust to life in a new conference, but don't expect James Madison to hold out an olive branch. The Dukes are playing some of their best basketball in recent memory and the possible addition of Anderson to the lineup may just push this team to the front of the class in the CAA.

RAYMOND, you are a very good picker, but at least give the writer credit where credit is due when you post a write-up OK? the above article was written for:

The Sports Network

By Scott Haynes, College Basketball Editor

and he predicted a final score of:

Sports Network Predicted Outcome: James Madison 75, Delaware 72

I'm new to this forum, but you are newer. Raymond is very adept at his insight, and he does not need someone to call him out on an article that was written and posted by Raymond to give us insight on the game. better watch whose toes you are stepping on in this forum!!!

pokherplyr,

Are you freakin serious??? It's not like Ray was sending this in to be published. . .nor did he pretend to take credit for this writeup. He posted it to help others and provide a reason for his pick. . . not for his college thesis!

I think I had all the 1 pt games tonight (ODU,JMU,Ill-Chi, and BG)
I guess that is what I get for playing ODU and JMU on the ML. Can somebody explain to me what the hell is going on in these games. I think I am going to start having my dog pick my games for me.

I think a lot of these tight games now are the fact that everyone gets a new lease on life with the start of the conference season.

If some of these matchups happen in another month, when the hope has been sucked out of some teams, injuries have taken their tolls, etc., results are far different.

Right now is a dangerous time for road faves, I think, because of this "new lease on life."

Good luck!
