I reloaded my card with $250 last night and went to pull it today via ATM and
Bitpay closed my account. I only used my card to withdraw funds and not as a card to make purchases so they closed it.
They were great for 2 years!
Fuck them...greedy corporate whores.

So? What does that mean? What are they telling you? As I have only used mine to withdraw as well mostly but have used a couple times on small purchases.

It seems they have shifted focus on users. I know others who were also closed in 2019.

It's kinda insane since I haven't loaded my card in 2 months and it was for $250. Last year I loaded 4 and 5 figures monthly.

I just used mine at the ATM on Friday and yesterday, no problems.

I still have $6000 on the card so hope I don't run into problems.

I ran a google search and saw nothing on the topic of accounts being closed.

Jack, hit a TD bank (the only bank that will let you pull $740 a pop) and you can pull $740 - 4x in one visit for $2980 a day. Also if its a newer branch their new ATM's dispense 100's. :D

Don't leave more than $100 on there ever.

If the card gets comprised you won't see a penny in disputes.

How were you sending the money to your bitpay card? Straight from the sports book to your bitpay wallet?

Never...

I use several accounts including multiple crypto exchanges.

Weird. I used the card for a couple purchases this week, never had before. Spent about $3000, no problems. I'll get the rest out in cash over the weekend.

They did cut me off when I was in Vegas last month by denying an ATM withdrawal but I called and verified who I was and they hooked me back up. Other than that I've never had a problem. There's a thread at SBR in the sports books section talking about a few guys that got cutoff but they were sending direct from book to bitpay and huge volume. I'd sure hate to lose that card.

I just used it today. No problems. I use it mostly to move money from crypto exchanges to the card. Today I took a sports book withdrawal and sent to Gemini then to BitPay.

Changes to BitPay Card cash withdrawals and advances as of March 8, 2019

Right now the BitPay Card is scheduled for a system conversion, including upgrades to improve the systems that support your card. During the time of this conversion (starting March 8th), cash back features such as ATM withdrawals, POS cash back and over-the-counter cash advances will be unavailable. This service interruption is unavoidable, and we will make every effort to restore these services as soon as possible.

During the conversion, you will still be able to use your card to shop with Visa? merchants online and in-person. You will also continue to be able to move funds from your card to other bank accounts via ACH transfer. View our guide to ACH transfers.

We value and appreciate your continued use of the Card. If you have any questions about this notification, please contact us at bitpay.com/request-help or call the cardholder services team at (855) 884-7568. We'll be reaching back out to customers when cash back features are available again.

So the card will work for any purchase online or in-person but all of sudden you can't use it at an ATM because of a system upgrade? This sounds like bullshit to me. I have a feeling something is going on with people withdrawing large sums of cash and BitPay is about to take action. Am I reaching here?

It's the american fucking way! Start a business before the government has any clue...Exchange Bitcoin (WTF is Bitcoin) for USD and give people debit cards where they can load up to 25k monthly and withdrawal up to 3k a day.

Make millions off of fees...Get spooked by the goverment and start doing audits and close anyone's card that only uses the card for it's real purpose.

Neteller...Circle....Bitpay. Who's fucking next!

Sent $100 bitcoin to the card yesterday as a test. That went smoothly. Went to an ATM this morning and did a test $40 withdrawal. Success! This is going to be the way to go now and it's actually easier than the bitpay card.
