Blue Ray Advice

Good morning Gents!

Hope you guys are having a good week!

I wanted to get some advice from the crew before purchasing any electronics. I made the mistake of buying a 42 in. plasma Hitachi Ultravision 2 years ago and now realize its 1080i instead of 1080p.

I went to Best Buy last Saturday and the asscoaite was trying to talk me into buying a PS3 instead of a Blue Ray dvd player?! A Playstation?!!

Which brings me to the question:

With a 1080i plasma, do I need to EVEN buy a Blue Ray player?

I would buy the PS3. The video procesor in it is better than most anything else.

Besides it is less expansive and they are constantly coming out with free firmware updates. Most of the blurays do not do that.

Oh yeah it plays decent games. Not as good as the Xbox 360 but very good games.
