Just going with this one matchup bet:

N. Dougherty to beat S. Lowry - 1.47 (5u)

I like this bet quite alot, so i'll place a medium size bet on this matchup.

Round 1 plays (1pt):

Luke Donald to beat Henrik Stenson +110 @ Paddy Power
Stenson's hit-and-miss season continued last week with a top-10 finish at the U.S. Open, but for someone who has cited fatigue in recent weeks it should be unlikely that he can repeat that form in Germany after Monday's finish across the Atlantic. He does have good form on this course, but so does Donald and on the European Tour alone, Donald has a 20-6 h2h record against him.

Rory McIlroy to beat Alvaro Quiros -110 @ SkyBet [tie loses]
Like Donald, Quiros left the U.S. Open 36 holes before his opponent, but I'm not as concerned about McIlroy's hangover effects as Stenson's. McIlroy also finished in the top-10, and while Quiros has shown good recent form, it still does not match that of McIlroy. In their last eight common events, Quiros has shot the lower 1st round just once and finished ahead of McIlroy at the end of the tournament just twice.

Johan Edfors to beat Richard Sterne -149 @ Unibet
Edfors is a player to back early in a tournament. In his 13 starts this year, he has held the lead after the first round twice and been 2nd after the first round once. He was also 14th after the first round in the U.S. Open last week, finishing 27th in an event that is not suited to his game, so his overall form is very good. With two cuts made in two attempts here, I'd expect him to record his best finish on this course this week. That would be much easier for Sterne who has played here three times and missed the cut on every occasion. He has also missed five of his last six cuts, so should be a large underdog in this match.

Johan Edfors to beat Paul McGinley +100 @ SkyBet [tie loses]
McGinley did have a good record on this course until 2005 but has missed his last two cuts here and has rarely looked like matching Edfors' form: in their last 14 common events, McGinley has finished ahead of Edfors just twice.

Johan Edfors to beat Louis Oosthuizen -120 @ FiveDimes
Backing Edfors again and this time against a player with even worse course form: in five attempts, the closest that Oosthuizen has come to making the cut is to miss it by three shots. He's also missed two of his last three cuts, so it will be a surprise if he make the cut this week.
