I saw what you said about the Big 12 in the Ohio State game thread and here is my sentiment about conference supremacy this year.
Top to bottom, the best conf is the SEC.
Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, LSU have a very good chance at winning at least 10 games. Ole Miss, Arkansas, Alabama, Miss State, S Carolina and Auburn are all probably bowl-bound minus Bama cuz they got caught with their hand in the cookie jar.
I feel that Texas is the best team in the Big 12 this year. They are good enough to beat anyone but will they? I think people are giving Oklahoma waaaaaay too much credit this year. While their Defense could be the best in the country, this offense will be very inept like it was last year. They are learning a new scheme, and QB Jason White; while better than Hybl is still not 100 %. Their special teams are atrocious and that could really hurt them in some big games this year. I have talked to people that have watched them scrimmage all fall and they echo my sentiments about them. The offense will put them into too many bad situations. I think that Simms for Texas will be much better without Major Applewhite looking over his shoulder. Their defense is sensational, and they can score at will. But can Texas stay focused and surive a brutal conference sched? They have never beaten KSU which they play on the road and they also play Nebraska on the road --which by then may be a very dangerous team but not early on.
Kansas State may suprise some people if they can even get "serviceable" QB play. Their defense is outstanding, they are well coached and they have a good OL and nice little RB by the name of Darren Sproles who will be very good. But when you stack up the group from the Big 12
Texas
Oklahoma
Nebraska
Colorado
KSU
TExas Tech
Iowa State
Oklahoma State (they will be good this year)
I think the SEC has the overall edge. As far as the Big 10, toilet. Their bowl record the last few years speaks for itself. There is not 1 team in that conf capable of competing nationally.
I think Oregon will suprise a lot of people this year.
We have so much to talk about.
Good luck to all
