hmmm?....who woulda` thunk it...they don't hate us because we're "infidels", they hate us because of our inability to live by our constitution...

obviously a document al qaeda has tremendous respect for.....

maybe i was wrong...the constitution IS a suicide pact...especially since it`s been reconfigured to give terrorists habeas corpus and rights they`ve never had in the history of warfare...

new age,baby!...

lets hash this out...

1) bocky wants the gitmo boys cut loose..

2) bocky thinks cutting them loose might lead to recidivist attacks on the u.s....

3) but keeping these known enemies locked up is sure to encourage others to follow their path....

:mj03:

o.k....
the clear answer to this conundrum is that i'm stocking up on four-year's worth of ketamine and fentanyl....

that'll keep me drooling, happy and paralyzed until the next election....:mj06:

OK...for the sake of argument...

OK...for the sake of argument...

What is your personal working solution to the international miscreants Shrub and his cronies put away?

Gitmo and its torturous days have been an international black eye on America, land of the free.

Granted, these are probably not nice people with our best interests in mind....

Easy to fault the process....lets hear it Wease...

relocation to ??? trials..? stateside incarceration?
New York cabbies with ankle monitors?
Bathroom attendants at second rate Atlantic City Casinos?

I still like my sunken transport ship in shark infested waters, neat, few loose ends.

Wease, isn't it disrespectful to address the POTUS as bock? Shouldn't it be Mr. President or President Obama.

WASHINGTON ? The Republican Party chose the first black national chairman in its history Friday, just shy of three months after the nation elected a Democrat as the first African-American president. The choice marked no less than "the dawn of a new party," declared the new GOP chairman, former Maryland Lt. Gov. Michael Steele. Republicans chose Steele over four other candidates, including former President George W. Bush's hand-picked GOP chief, who bowed out declaring, "Obviously the winds of change are blowing."

Steele takes the helm of a beleaguered Republican Party that is trying to recover after crushing defeats in November's national elections that gave Democrats control of Congress put Barack Obama in the White House.

GOP delegates erupted in cheers and applause when his victory was announced, but it took six ballots to get there. He'll serve a two-year term.

Steele, an attorney, is a conservative, but he was considered the most moderate of the five candidates running.

He was also considered an outsider because he's not a member of the Republican National Committee. But the 168-member RNC clearly signaled it wanted a change after eight years of Bush largely dictating its every move as the party's standard-bearer.

Steele became the first black candidate elected to statewide office in Maryland in 2002, and he made an unsuccessful Senate run in 2006. The former chairman of the Maryland Republican Party currently serves as chairman of GOPAC, an organization that recruits and trains Republican political candidates, and in that role he has been a frequent presence on the talk show circuit.

He vowed to expand the reach of the party by competing for every group, everywhere.

"We're going to say to friend and foe alike: 'We want you to be a part of us, we want you to with be with us.' And for those who wish to obstruct, get ready to get knocked over," Steele said.

Gitmo....detainees .....the final solution per Weaze.

Let's hear it...:director:

weasel would:....

keep the military tribunal system in place...but make sure that all detainees get a timely hearing...set up guidelines on a timeframe so people don`t sit for 5 years before getting a hearing...which is more than most deserve...

habeas corpus should be off the table(thanks supreme court:rolleyes: )...ridiculous...

no way do thees guys EVER get to our shores with the full legal rights of a u..s. citizen...gumming up our idiotic legal system with endless appeals and the right to see classified information that may be used as evidence...with the aclu`s full support(along with deep pocketed america haters like george soros)....

who do you think is pushing this silly "close gitmo" idea?...the aclu.democrats and the trial lwyer lobby....

anyone remember that stupid, ugly old lib lawyer lynn stewart relaying messages between her "client" and terrorist organizations?...

http://www.rcfp.org/news/2004/0602usvsat.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynne_Stewart

you trust lawyers?...you`d have to be some radical schmuck to represent these animals.. you could probably multiply the lynn stewart scenario times 10 or 20...

they get treated better at gitmo than they`d EVER get treated at a super max....and who wants them corrupting a weak-minded prison population with a grudge with all their propaganda?...

think about it...

they`re monsters...they want you dead....they want your mother/father/sister/brother/wife and children dead...

and the reason they want you dead has nothing to do with gitmo...it started long before that...

imo,the executive order demanding release of/ closure of gitmo was a fundamental error on bock`s part, but he had to do something to placate the rabid left......, which considers gitmo a far greater crime than the mass carnage inflicted by the terrorists who operate around the world and attack our national interests. ..

even though i kid him and take him to task on here,i actually don`t dislike obama...

and i`m not entirely sure that he`s not rethinking some of his campaign rhetoric now that the burden is on him...

but it scares the hell out of me that he`d rather undermine u.s. national security to fulfill a campaign pledge to close gitmo than to deal with the ugly reality that u.s. national security needs a place like gitmo to contain the very terrorists who will not be stopped unless they're killed or captured.....

btw...jabber...you can take a shot at me...you know i can handle it....

i`ll still love ya`...:toast:

WASHINGTON ? President Barack Obama was spending time with families of 9/11 victims and the 17 sailors killed in the bombing of the USS Cole after a senior Pentagon judge dropped charges against an al-Qaida suspect in the Cole attack being held at Guantanamo Bay.

The legal move Thursday by Susan J. Crawford, the top legal authority for military trials at Guantanamo, upholds Obama's Jan. 22 executive order to halt terrorist court proceedings at the U.S. Navy base in Cuba. The charges against suspected al-Qaida bomber Abd al-Rahim al-Nashiri marked the last active Guantanamo war crimes case.

Groups representing victims' families were angered by Obama's order, charging they had waited too long already to see the alleged attackers brought to court.

I agree .Plenty of blame to go around here between the lack of a timely trial to Obamas stupidity.Im in favor of keeping base open and think our country is a step unsafer.
I hope im wrong.
