WASHINGTON ? "President-elect Barack Obama on Thursday defended his choice of a popular evangelical minister to deliver the invocation at his inauguration, rejecting criticism that it slights gays.

The selection of Pastor Rick Warren brought objections from gay rights advocates, who strongly supported Obama during the election campaign. The advocates are angry over Warren?s backing of a California ballot initiative banning gay marriage. That measure was approved by voters last month.

But Obama told reporters in Chicago that America needs to ?come together,? even when there?s disagreement on social issues. ?That dialogue is part of what my campaign is all about,? he said. Obama also said he?s known to be a ?fierce advocate for equality? for gays and lesbians, and will remain so."......

uh oh....where the hell is father "phlegm"-ger when you need him?...

Change You Can Believe In??........maybe the dude is serious about bringing folks together....

i`m a tad surprised....

that would be great if you could open up your heart and let the sunshine in some

I have the feeling that Obama is going to be a great president.

How can he do any worse than Bush. There is no where to go but up.

Warren is my kind of evangelist. I even went to his church when it was being run out of a high school gym back in 1985. Dude's come along way.

"Time Magazine has some photos of their man of the year, Presidential Elect Barack Obama, as a Freshman at Occidental college. The pictures were taken in 1980 by then-aspiring photographer Lisa Jack who recently dug the negatives out from her basement. She put her negatives of Obama, a whole roll of film, in a safety deposit box until after the election so the photos couldn?t be used against him in any way. One photo of Obama smoking looks like he could be smoking pot given the way he?s holding the cigarette. MSNBC?s Andrea Mitchell asked Time editor Rick Stengel ?what?s he smoking??

lisa...it wouldn`t have mattered....if you`d given them to the msm,THEY would have put them in a vault until after the election...
