Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: The Celtics try to close out the Cavaliers, the Marlins host the Mets, and the PGA Tour hits the links in the Valero Texas Open.

Tipping off on the hardwood . . .

The Celtics will be looking to advance to the Eastern Finals on Thursday when they play host to the Cavaliers in Game 6 of their second-round series. Boston thumped Cleveland 120-88 on the road in Game 5 of the series on Tuesday night, giving the Celtics a 3-2 series lead. Ray Allen led the way with 25 points for Boston in that win, while Paul Pierce picked up 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Kevin Garnett was good for 18 points. LeBron James was held to just 15 points in the defeat for the Cavaliers, while Shaquille O'Neal had 21 points on the night.

Meeting up on the diamond . . .

The American League schedule for Thursday has the Yankees at Detroit, Oakland at Texas, Cleveland at Kansas City, and Seattle at Baltimore. The Mariners/Orioles matchup will feature Felix Hernandez (2-3, 4.30 ERA) taking on Kevin Millwood (0-4, 3.26 ERA). Righthander Hernandez picked up the loss for the third straight start last time out, getting pounded for seven earned runs over just 3 1-3 innings by the Angels. Righthander Millwood is still looking for his first win of the season after seven trips to the mound; Millwood took a loss against the Twins in his last start, allowing three earned runs on seven hits in seven innings.

Meanwhile, there are just four games on the National League's schedule for Thursday as well, with San Diego at San Francisco, Houston at St. Louis, Washington at Colorado, and the Mets at Florida. New York's Johan Santana (3-2, 4.54 ERA) will take on the Marlins' Josh Johnson (3-1, 3.35 ERA) in that last matchup. Lefthander Santana had to settle for a no-decision in his last trip to the mound against the Giants, as he gave up four earned runs on eight hits over 7 2-3 innings of work. Righthander Johnson also picked up a no-decision last time out, allowing three earned runs on six hits over six innings against the Nationals.

Rounding out the Roundup . . .

Finally, the golfers of the PGA Tour hit the links at TPC San Antonio for this week's event, the Valero Texas Open. Ernie Els is pegged as the 10/1 Vegas favorite to pick up the tournament victory this week, with defending champion Zach Johnson just behind him on that odds list at 15/1. Adam Scott is getting 18/1 odds to take home the trophy in San Antonio, followed by Ben Crane at 20/1, Bo Van Pelt at 22/1, and both Justin Leonard and Ryan Palmer at 25/1. Ryuji Imada sits at 28/1 odds this week, with Sergio Garcia farther behind at 30/1.
