Okay, let's get a show of hands: How many of you have read any of J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" books? Really?? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's a children's series, right? Am I the only one who'd rather read "The Catcher in the Rye" for the 100th time than endure 800 pages (or whatever) of bratty kids riding around on broomsticks (or whatever)?

Which brings us to the preposterous prop part of this post... J.K. Rowling is rolling in dough as a result of the immense popularity of "Harry Potter" and now she wants to kill off her leading man. Or will she? Would the death of iconic heroes like Harry Potter have far-reaching effects? For Harry Potter, the end might just be nigh. That's a possibility that author JK Rowling has recently hinted at.

Bet on Harry Potter to die so Rowling can move onto more mature works of literature.

Odds On: Which character will be the first to die in the final book of the Harry Potter series?

Harry Potter 1/1

Lord Voldemort 2/1

Severus Snape 4/1

Lucius Malfoy 6/1

Ginny Weasley 10/1

Hagrid 12/1

Ronald Weasley 12/1

Hermione Granger 15/1

Draco Malfoy 20/1

Cho Chang 25/1

Professor McGonagall 30/1

Which character will be the first to die in the final book of the Harry Potter series? Right now in the Bodog Sportsbook Harry Potter is listed at 1/1 odds to die in Rowling's final book. Lord Voldemort (don't ask) is listed at 2/1 odds to die. What fate awaits Harry Potter and his friends? Only one woman really knows, but she's not saying much about the world's favorite British wizard.

Is J.K. Rowling going to commit Harry-kiri? Is she planning some appalling act of Potter-cide? Bet on Harry Potter to die in the Bodog Sportsbook.
