this from AP preview of his first start at Mil, May 25:
"Pickford is making
his first major league start after three relief appearances. The 27-year-old left-hander did not
allow a hit or a walk in 2 2-3 innings. Pickord has gone 3-4 with a 2.86 ERA in eight relief
appearances, spanning 44 innings for Triple-A Portland this season."
this from AP preview of his second start June 11 at Baltimore:
"The rookie left-hander
will be making his second career start. Pickford, who has made six of his seven big league
appearances out of the bullpen, surrendered two runs and three hits over four innings in his first
start, a 2-0 loss to the Milwaukee Brewers on May 25."
He was charged with 5 earned runs in 3.2 innings at Baltimore.
He has a 5.40 era, with whip of 2.04, in 16.2 innings, most of those reliefs.
Of 10 earned runs he has, five are from the 7.2 innings in his starts (on road).
He has 3 earned runs in 7.6 innings pitched at home, all relief.
