Ainge pulling out the cards on this one!!

Stevens is a young coach with great knowledge and he knows how to push players' buttons and since Celtics will be going younger, Stevens should be able to blend in his style of coaching and mesh with the new Celtics and I highly doubt they bring back Rondo with the amount of young talent out there for 2014 and this roster will be turned over big time.

Slow down style in the NBA probably won't work if Stevens tries to implement that style in the NBA, not many college coaches have done anything in the NBA, ie, Pitino, Calipari, Tim Floyd, all were young when they tried and all got grey real quick with short careers.

Stevens won't last long in Beantown!!

I agree Kid!!

However, Beantown can be brutal, Rick took them to the Post-season in year 2, but it ate at him like a lobster roll!!

I like Stevens and I think he'll do well, I just don't see him staying in Beantown real long though, 2 years maybe 3 yes, then back to NCAA or better things for him!!

:toast:

Maybe he'll trade for Hayward?

He got a 6 year deal...

Celtics have a plan....

I can see this team being ready in year 3

2 straight years of lottery picks & free agents....

Ainge will have them built to be a contender in season 3.

Just because other college coaches failed doesn't mean he will.

Time will tell the story.

Great points Kid!!

I agree on all you said!! I like this guy, I just hope the media, the Front Office and NBA, don't eat this guy away!! He turned down lucrative offers from other top D1 programs and other NBA jobs, turned Philly down as well I'm told as well as New Orleans before Monty Williams was offered it!!

They should be in the Lottery for at least 2 years for sure and who doesn't want to play in Beantown? Great place, loyal fans, great history and a creative mind that gets along with everyone!!

Good stuff!!

Can't wait for late October already!! :toast:

Yeah, I concur with ya william!! Lots of loyal and faithful fans in Hoosier land, however, it also draws some very good coaches to the state and the asst coaches at Butler were groomed pretty well, perhaps they'll promote their AHC/Recruiting guru as they transition to life without Stevens and life in the BIG EAST!! :scared

the celtics will go 18-50 and go undefeated in march

When Phiilly unloaded a lot of talent back in the 70's befor Doc J, George Mac, Caldwell Jones, Jellybean Bryant and others come along to add with Dougie & Mix, World Bee Free, Philly won league least games I believe 9, so Boston may be in for a rude first year record wise, especially playing in the East and it's still free-agency time, players can't sign until next Wednesday, so they could coup a few young players or make a couple trades to bring in 2 for 1 or a 3 for 1, if they get rid of Rondo probably future draft picks or a key bench player since his leg injury may devalue him, but he's a good player and it's not easy to find point guards with his type of quickness and passing skills.

If over/under for WINS for NBA comes out soon, I believe Boston will be at 24 1/2 -130, I'd take the under at +110 if that comes out.

it was more of a joke about him and his runs at Butler.

But i love the under any wins. i think they move rondo at the deadline. they are trying to sell it as they're all as one, but this team is going to be an absolute dumpster fire by the time everything is said and done.:toast:
