These teams are at home (or closeby) for their bowl. Anyone have insight as to whether this is a good thing or not historically?

Maryland Wash DC WINNER

Baylor Houston LOSER

SMU Ft. Worth LOSER

CLEEEEAR!!
Tigers?

Tigers?

Clemson playing real close to home....Charlotte, N.C. less than 2 hour drive from Clemson, S.C.

I think that the kids almost feel cheated by not being invited to a travel bowl. In Maryland's case, they were very disappointing in their bowl until their coach got shit canned before the game. Then they got motivated to send him off with a big win.

If anything, I feel it could:shrug: be a negative to play close to home, ESPECIALLY after a disappointing season.
