BGSU HAS WON FIVE OF SIX
After dropping three of four in late January, the Falcons have responded by winning five of its last six games. Seven of the Falcons' nine conference victories have come by 12 points or more.
ONE OF BGSU'S BEST
Since coming to BGSU five seasons ago, BGSU Coach Dan Dakich has molded this group of Falcons to become one of the best ever in BGSU history. The Falcons need one win to become the 12th team in school history to win 20 games in a season, and just the fourth since 1962. If the Falcons win 20 games, it will be the first time since 1943-49 when BGSU had six straight 20-win seasons, that BGSU will have won 20 games or more twice in three seasons. The Falcons were 22-8 in 1999-2000.
IN THE MAC
The Falcons are one game ahead of Miami and Ohio in the loss column for second place in the MAC's East Division. The top three teams overall in the league earn first-round byes and advance to Cleveland for next month's MAC Tournament Championship. Since the 1998-99 season, BGSU has the league's second best winning percentage in MAC games (45-22, 67.1%).
THE FALCONS AND THE ROCKETS
Toledo holds a 74-71 edge in the most-played rivalry for either school. BGSU captured a 76-57 triumph in January in Bowling Green. The Rockets have won the last two meetings in Savage Hall, but BGSU is 4-4 in Toledo since 1994.
ROAD TESTED
With neutral site and true road games, BGSU has posted an 8-4 record, including a 3-3 road record in the league. The Falcons join Kent State (10-5) and Ohio (7-6) as the only league schools with a record above .500 away from their home courts. Since February of last season, BGSU has won seven of its 10 MAC road games. With one more road win, the Falcons will clinch a winning true road record for just the fifth time since 1963. BGSU was 7-3 in 1962-63, 7-5 in 1967-68, 6-4 in 1982-83, and 8-7 in 1999-2000, on an opponents home floor.
