Tonights games with Bowling Green is a sentimental play. Jimmy B a classmate of mine when we graduated HS went to BG and played soccer for them .. I found out about 6 months ago he passed away. When we were juniors at my cathloic HS in NY we both had father Tobin for World History I have told this story before. Tobins nickname was the " duck" because when he walked with his long black priest robes he " waddled" : like a duck. Jimmy sat in the row in front of me. The Duck lecturing on Magellan the Spansih explorer is credited with being the 1st to circumnavigate the world. But Father Tobin then said Magellan was killed by natives in the Phillipines but his ships got back to Spain so he still gets the credit. Well Jimmy B had fallen asleep and Tobin noticed it, He waddle down the aisle and stpped and saw Jimmy B was sleeping. He woke Jimmy up and said " Jimmy my boy what did the Queen do when Magellan got back to Spain. Well everyone in that room knew Magellan never got back except Jimmy and he responded with : She Knighted him Father" And Father Tobin with a wind. mill swing smaked Jimmy across the face and Said ' and I knight thee" I felt the wind of the swing I might someday be in and old folks home forget my wife's name and 4 kids but I will always remember where Magellan died.
