Hey guys long time lurker over here. I was compeled to post today. Just wanted to let you and others I have not listed, know that you guys are some of the best coll hoop handicappers I have seen.

I was curious do you guys make it a rule to watch a team play on tv or live before making your selections. I was just wondering what makes you guys so consistant. I don't think you can achieve this type of consistancy just looking at box scores and matchups...

great job this year:00hour

Also what a great forum no BS or drama just winners. Might make this my permanent home.

jaxson, thanks. I appreciate that and I'm sure the others do too. You are going to laugh but I have been doing this a long time. About 44 years. I'm Nuts!! :mj07: :mj07: I don't believe it has been this long. I use and do alot of different things to cap. Bases is my best and favorite sport. Stick around. This is the best site there is. Alot of good cappers here.

Good luck whatever you do. Welcome aboard.

Thanks BA. I have been at this a long time too. Sometimes i wonder why:shrug: with all of my hot and cold streaks :( :) I personally feel i get way to tied up in numbers line movements etc.. That is why i asked about watching the games. I notice that you guys live around some universities and follow those teams quite well. I don't know how many times I wager on teams that I have never seen play. Lose some of em and win some of em. Usually once I see them play I have a lot better handle on them.

good luck in your future plays

jaxson, if i may throw in my 2 cents... the vast majority of the time, i want to have seen a team at least once, so i feel i know something about them. the big exception to that rule is when i feel a line is 'off', ie clearly begging for money on one side. yesterday's western kentucky/evansville game was a perfect example of that. a team that had already beaten the #3 team in the country was getting a point or two from a team that hadn't beaten anybody decent and was playing the #1 team in the country 5 days later. that line just jumped out at me, although i haven't seen either team this year. it really seemed like they were begging you to play wku. we all know what we have to do when that's the case.

that was also a good example of what a great website this is. i started a thread on the game, asking for opinions to make sure i wasn't missing anything. i got some great feedback, especially from sixfive, who had watched wku play.

best of luck to you, sir.

For the most part I am all about watching and seeing how 2 teams will match up. I am not into all of that line-movement stuff. Not into trends or technical analysis..I do not believe the past has anything to do with today.

If I try to read in to all that stuff I just end up getting confused. Just because a line moves one way that does not tell us anything. There could be a ton of different reasons why they move it.

I am simply looking for the better basketball team based on what my eyes have seen. I played a ton of AAU basketball and I was a practice player for 2 years at UCONN. I have basketball junkie friends all over the country that I speak with about local teams.

Do I wager on Teams that I have not seen this year? Absolutly!! I take into account last years team that I saw and see how many of those guys are back this year. I have every TV PLAN known to man kind. I get tapes sent to me from my friends that live in the midwest and west coast of some of the smaller schools that do make espn gameplan!!

For the most part it is all about my feel for who has the better matchups. I hope one day to quit my day job and be a basketball coach!!!

Good Luck this year
