I was able to earn the #1 welterweight spot my jr. & sr. year in college (lots of training and living on oatmeal, orange juice and chewing tobacco to cut the 23 lbs.).

I am 6' tall and have a 73 1/2" reach, which I know aided me to go 14 -1 against usually shorter opponents with less reach.

As we all know - SPEED KILLS! On Saturday night we will see if Judah's speed and power follow him up to the welterweight division.

Who knows? Spinks might utilize the advantages he does have and land something on Judah's questionable chin to gain the oddsmakers upset!

Call me crazy, call me paranoid, call me still stunned from the shots I took while boxing and I have to ask myself the following question:

Does Don King have his hands in the Easter Basket?

Why do I have the sneaky suspicion that King's guy will keep his titles, which will question Judah's standing as a welterweight and the next thing we hear is the Judah vs. Kostya Tszyu rematch at 140 lbs.

don king

is truly the wildcard here...lol...truer words were never spoken....

an acquaintance of mine has a piece of cory spinks and travis simms......

he was left out in the cold in the negotiations for the judah fight.....the guy didn`t want the judah fight right after mayorga...

cory's manager wanted to do the Mayorga rematch in St. Louis. His cousin, the ex-mayor of St. Louis, got some money people together and they came up with $2 million for a site fee.

king played hardball and said it wasn`t enough....king convinced them that mayorga/spinks 2 wasn`t marketable enough....but that he`d do spinks/mayorga 2 in st louis if spinks took the judah fight for pretty good money.......

so,without the lawyer there, they did the deal...or so i`m told...

i think king scammed them...spinks can win...but he could have argued for a jose antonio rivera fight or tried for gatti...imo,2 much easier fights than judah....

they are rolling the dice....cory can win...but,it`s a pretty risky step right after winning the biggest fight of your career...i would have made some easier money first and establish a little more cred,if it were my guy...lord, an overrated gatti would have been perfect...or getting a second belt from j.a. rivera....

in my humble opinion....:D
