i wrote something in the older thread about the arslan-alekseev fight

arslan opened as -900 :scared

now totally flipped, so they put the line up wrong or bettors just been hitting the uzbek-russian

i think it's the latter

Hi Thong,

This was just a mistake by the bookie. In europe the lines are already up for several days and Ale, had been the big favorite since the first sec.

Btw. I like Arslan at +350 (or better some books have him at +500 :scared ), the only question is if he can get Alekseev tired over time and then win with a strong finish...

Boxing tonite; Jhonson/Nelson

Boxing tonite; Jhonson/Nelson

Play: Nelson +365. Some value as Nelson has some pop, but doesn't always fight smart. At 6'3" he has serious wing span and is starting to use his jab more, which would make sense. Should be an interesting matchup, on Showtime, from Las Vegas.

Willie "The Great" Nelson seems to have a suspect chin. I know he might have been weight drained in that fight against Arroyo but the legitimacy of the knockdowns sure don't give me confidence this guy can take a punch. Boxrec also notes he was dropped against the journeyman Carrasquillo. Only seen limited footage but overall this guy doesn't seem to impressive, never good at elite level when you can't punch and can't take a punch. Suppose he could outwork Jhonson...

I would rush to bet the under rounds but Yudel Johnson is almost the exact opposite of James Kirkland. Just moves around the outside and uses his fast hands/accurate punching to get in and out and score. Decent pop but his output is really underwhelming.

Not sure about Nelson not being able to punch. I think he can crack, but he will have his work cut out for him. Jhonson has good head/feet movement, and decent defensively. I see some serious exchanges and some one may get put to sleep. If Nelson finds himself behind on the cards, which I suspect, he may go into search and destroy mode. Anything is possible. Also, Nelson has never been past 8 rounds, but he is only 25 so stamina should not be an issue, but who knows? Punchers chance for Nelson.

Like that one too. Maybe even inside at +1400

Maybe I am underestimating what Nelson brings to the table. Can't get a full fight of his on video. Probably going to go small on the under 9.5 rounds, hopefully he does have some power.

Probably off the board at most books now but like Alekseev to beat Arslan. Arslan plodding guard up style perfect for Alekseev to box around. And I don't think Arslan has the power to exploit Alekseev's below average beard. Should be pretty straightforward, especially with the fight in his backyard. Wide UD or late stoppage imo.

To be honest Nelon and A. are heavy underdogs for a reason, but I see value in those lines :0corn

Arslan looking good so far.

I don't know why Alexeev is choosing to fight him on the inside

Arslan looks to be getting the best of Alexeev but who knows where the cards are at. One thing for sure is Alexeev is fighting like an idiot. Why on earth is he trying to fight inside? Just walking into shots, Arslan must be laughing.
