I was looking at Earl by ko at +250

Earl doesn't have much power but Bennett has been stopped twice by lesser and weaker competition. Once in '01 by 5-0 Gary Ryder who is know 10-1 with 5 ko's, and once in '02 by 17-0 Colin Lynes who is now 26-1 with 9 ko's. Lynes had won 9 straight fights by decision before stopping Bennett in the 4th.

I'm getting +250 here b/c Bennett just went the distance with Jason Cook. But Cook only has 10 ko's in 25 fights. I think the Earl ko prop has good enough value to play small, looking for the inside distance prop to surface at 5dimes, might pick up a tech decision for the same price.

To be honest, I'm not real sure Earl will win if this goes to the cards. I didn't see the fights but its no secret that Earl's two decisions over Vanzie were very contraversial. Earl lost his last fight by a wide margin in England to 10-0 Ricky Burns who was untested as a pro and is from Scottland.

Bennett lost a very close decision to Jason Cook in Wales. Of course, Cook was ko'd in the 3rd round his very next fight so maybe he was already half gone in the Bennett fight.

Hopefully I'm right about Bennett's chances of getting stopped and Earl gets the job done for both of us, I hope so.

Whats your take on this fight frankie?

"the bunker"
here`s some british info....it`s not necessarily gonna help pick a side here....but,something to throw into the mix...

"""I think there are some fundemental things to consider in the fight that might be hugely important.

Graham Earl is the hometown fighter.

Graham Earl is the fight promoters charge, as we have seen in UK boxing in recent months that seems to be fundemental.

I see the fight as a 50:50 one, Bennett is one of the underated "experienced" type fighters. You know, isn't anything flashy...doesn`t look particularly outstanding but has alot of succint moves and does everything well. Bennett is the one with the best recent form having beaten Dean Phillips (who I tipped to beat him) wheras Earl lost his unbeaten tag in a non title 8 rounder vs a novice pro.

Earl can get outboxed, and Bennett has the skills to do it. However, Earl has good power and when on form I would make him the slight favourite. Bennett has been known to struggle with the weight and fade a bit in contests - although against Dean he kept up a good pace for 12 rounds.

Earl's been very lucky as British champ, twice getting fortunate decisions vs Bobby Vanzie and also for the fact his last fight was a non title affair (as he faced an undefeated Scot). He can get outboxed and Bennett has the skills to do this. Earl in some ways like a David Tua, he is a come forward fighter.... if Bennett takes it too him then I would fancy Earl by maye a late stoppage or points (both have solid chins).

I just have the feeling though, that Bennett has the skills to outhustle Earl and win on points - although the promoter issue might be key.

In truth it is an 50:50 contest and hard to call. """"

my friend is wavering.....to say the least....lol

Now we hear that Earl's left hand is not 100%. He says it's "better", but not totally healed. WTF!
I think I will bail out, and put my moolah on Tarver. Nice article in "Gaming Today", by Katz. He sees Tarver a slight fav, and a draw is possible.
I'm with the boxster and play Tarver-183.
